RE: Toilet Pee Problems!

I noticed that my toilet flushes poorly, that is, the rinse water flows in at top left, and circles the bowl, but does not do a good job rinsing down the back of the bowl. This quickly lead to an odor problem, although I did not notice yellow water on top of the flush flap. Perhaps that is what is happening to yours?
Anyway, our initial solution was a 1 liter soda bottle full of water left in the shower stall, and when you finished your business, you poured a quick rinse from the soda bottle at the back of the bowl as you flushed.
That was a bit of a pain, but a cheap fix. Then I discovered a $50 hand bidet at Lowes. It rather looks like a kitchen sink hand sprayer, but it taps into the water line to the toilet and has a handy screw holder thing that goes on the back of the shower wall, so it looks like it belongs there. Being right beside the toilet, it's a quick squirt in the bowl, and beautifully, it works great as a bidet, too. No more soda bottle, professional-looking installation, cheap, double-purpose, what's not to like?
Oh, it is also really handy for rinsing down the shower stall floor or walls. Much easier to use than the shower head.

RE: GMC Towhooks

Well we have reached the end of things to debate.........
I guess we could talk about windshield wiper blades.
Pass on the auto wipers...silly folks who can't decide whether to turn
their wipers on or not and must leave it to a computer
Am waiting for the butt wipe option myself... :)
The cooled seat option will help relieve the discomfort until the butt wipe option becomes available.
If your cooled seat option springs a leak it may give you a bidet type butt wipe option. :E

RE: What you change on your FW to make it better

> Two lazyboy recliners
> Added an electric fireplace/ heater
> Installed a desk in the dining area. The dining table slides into the leg well of the desk. So we have a combination of desk and dining area.
> Sleep number mattress
> Stackable washer dryer
> Bidet attachment (from Home Depot Brondell Freshspa) on the toilet for that squeaky clean feeling.

RE: What' your RV/TT getting???

Kind of a late Christmas here... new Honda Eu2000i, and I built a 30 Amp connector box and cables for it.
All LED's inside for ease of battery life.
175 W inverter, so I can watch a little 22" TV off the battery.
Kill a Watt P3
1/2" digital torque wrench, for the lug nuts.
1 1/8" socket and 10" extension for the water heater plug anode.
2" queen sized density foam pad for the bed
Queen sized Down comforter and bidet cover for it.
LED light strip, 50 feet long, so I can see where I walk at night when in rocky areas near rivers.
It's been a busy month, being a new TT'er gets a little pricey at first to get set up to dry camp.

RE: wipers

I do not use TP at home since we have a bidet. I can tell you from experience, though, that the Kirkland Moist "Flushable" Towelettes are *NOT* flushable! I sent a few of them randomly down the commode last summer and managed to back up the sewer and flood my basement. When I snaked the sewer pipe, out came those flushable wipes.
Since I am not a fan of the "Dry Smear" concept of cornholio sanitation, I do use the Kirkland wipes exclusively in the RV, but they do not get flushed down the toilet.

RE: Gray Water Contamination ?

Oh boy!
This one could turn out to be almost as good as the "Bidet" thread! https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQ_AD3oQZVSevvpyKW5c1fF_XJVKq2tCYq1O-GK_FahH5QuscpkgQ
Here's my two cents:
#1 is not the disease/destruction carrier that some perceive it to be- and is in fact about the closest thing to sterile associated with the human body. Most if not all disease-carrying organisms associated with our "output" are #2-related.
As proof, I'll point to the fact that major river-rafting areas both large and small almost without exception have rules requiring that while "feces" must be hauled out, "urination is to be done in the stream itself". And many of these rivers, mind you, are water sources for major cities! The Colorado, for one.
The moral of this story is: Go ahead and don't worry about it.
Hope that's a "relief" :B

My wife has trouble with her knees. I added one of these to a high rise Aqua Magic toilet. She says it has helped tremendously. Cleans her up without have to stand.
And it saves on toilet paper.
I like it too. Nice clean feeling.

RE: Hose beside toilet

When the DW first asked that question, I told her "It's an RV, you can't use TP you just rinse" LOL.
The RVer's cheapo Bidet.
Can even plumb in hot water if needed. :E

RE: bidet

What brand is a good one for RV bidet?.Where can I find one?
Got mine on Amazon. BioBidet BB-1000 is what I have, it has all the bells and whistles. Most are simple to instal but the heated water and seat are well worth the extra money in my book. (They range from $129 - $499) At home you'll eventually save the money in TP ... might take a little longer in a RV ;)

RE: bidet

Out of curiousity, where does one put a bidet in an RV?
The type he is asking about replaces the toilet seat.

RE: bidet

Good discussion is great but is it to much to ask to at least be knowledgeable before making a definitive statement?
knowledgable (speak for yourself...) ...
I currently can last 3-4 days w/o dumping. An extra cup of water each time the commode is used adds up drastically. Maybe I exaderated by saying every day. I'll say every second day. With a young family and a wife that dispises public bathrooms, We'll stick to our tp. But, what do I know, that is only MY experience.

RE: bidet

To each their own, but TP is a lot easier than having to dump tanks every day because of the water use of a bidet..
C'mon guys. Good discussion is great but is it to much to ask to at least be knowledgeable before making a definitive statement?
A bidet uses less then a cup of water in a very fine stream to clean the area involved. There is no way whatsoever you're going to have to dump tanks every day because of bidet usage.
Bidet's are one of those things you never try until you do... then you cant figure out how you managed without one for so long. The one I use heats the seat, turns on an air filter, heats the water and air dries upon completion. When done it automatically cleans the nozzle and waits for it's next use. Nothing could be more sanitary or care free.

RE: bidet

Re read again. It would be worth the purchase price to hear my wife during the night the first time she flushes. :)
I've done it and the look on her face was... priceless. Shock, meets confusion meets the reality of how great of a system this is compared to our traditional, one step removed from cavemen using leaves, way of post-potty cleansing. :S
Use a bio-bidet in home and RV. Heated water, heated seat and a post cleaning air-dry for under $500.00. Never going back. :B
