good Sam Extended Service Plan

We had a problem with our slide not going out. Brought it to Risco RV service, they found the problem, replaced the motors and handled the paperwork with Good Sam. Good Sam sent payment to them electronically within a day. We are very impressed with both Risco and Good Sam.
Thanks,
Ed

good Sam Extended Warranty Problem

In Sept of 2012, I purchased a RV Cover for my Class A motor home. I purchased the extended warranty also at the same time for an additional $90. The Camping World where I purchased the RV Cover is now closed. When I purchased the cover the clerk instructed me to wait 3 days and then register the product with Camping world via the internet. when I tried to register the product the system rejected my input. So I called and spoke with someone on the phone. The person that I spoke with was also unable to register my product. The took all my info and said when the computer system came back up, they would enter the info I supplied.
During the Winter storage (Dec thru March) the cover tore in 4 different places. I called the extended warrant people and was told that they had no info in the computer for me.
In order to protect the innocent...I will only use a first name.
This all started on March 20th...I spoke with a Lynn who was the person I spoke with. She took my info and then asked me to email me a copy of the receipt I had. I did this and she received it per our conversation. She stated that she would forward the info to the input section and it would take 3 to 5 days to get it entered. I called on March 28th and spoke with Helen. she stated that she could not find any record for me on the computer and I asked her to have "Lynn" to call me back. On April 2nd, and not hearing from "Lynn", I spoke with "Steve." Steve was unable to help me, and said that he would transfer me to a supervisor. I spoke with Randy, Eric and Rene, neither of these people could help me nor could they explain why my info could not be entered into the computer. I re-emailed a copy of the receipt to "Rene". On April 5th, I recalled and spoke with Victoria and explained my problem and frustration with the system. She said that she would have a supervisor call me. On April 9th a Melanie called me and I explained my problem. She said that she could and would help me. On April 11th, Melanie stated that she was unable to find any copies of the receipt, so I emailed and faxed her a copy of the receipt and she stated that she did get it and would have it entered into the computer. Between April 11th and April 22nd I never heard from Melanie nor anyone from the Extended Warrant Section. So I called on April 22, but was only able to leave a message for Melanie since she was out of the office. On April 29th, and still not have heard from anyone, I called again and spoke with "Lynn" (the first person I spoke with) who said that Melanie was on the phone and she would have her call me. At this present time I have no faith in anyone calling me. I'm losing faith in Good Sam and Camping World to hold up to their part of all this. I will try this first and if it fails, you go to the next step. I need someone to call me or email me and explain why I'm having so many problems with my problem and help me get it done.

extended warranty on a hybrid? Worth it? how is good?

im the one purchasing that used 2011 jayco 17c. from the looks of it it is in great shape... but really no one knows until I take it out on test runs. I would hate to pay 10 grand for camper only to find out two months from now that the AC unit was going bad, or the same with the water heater/water pump.. is it possible to get an extended warranty on a used hybrid? I got a quate from goodsam.com.. the price was only around $300.00 per year..states it covers all major components including appliences. I don't mind paying that price for the piece of mind on the used camper to know im covered if something goes... but I don't know anything about that goodsam company...that's a cheap price for a warranty I would think??? and I always say if its too good to be true, well, you know the rest...

good Sams Extended Warrenty

I have a 2000 Fleetwood Discovery and had the unit in for warrenty repair to the microwave and hydrolic jacks. the repairs were going to be about $4500. Good Sams denied the claim because they said neither were machanical failures. Eventhough the jacks were leaking fluid and would not hold pressure. and the Microwave would not turn on. I now believe this warrenty plan is the worst on the market today. The policy explicitely says both of these items are warrented.
they define mechanical as a non-working part, however they say the damage is a physical repair. However the policy does not define physical. This is insane. The items fail with normal ware and tare but they are not warrented. Please call if you have questions. I would recommend any other policy except Good Sams.
Good Luck

good Sam extended warrantee

WE purchased a 2010 motor home from our dealer (camping world) The primary reason was to protect us from repair bills once our new coach warrantee expired. The good Sam noted thar if repairs are performed at a camping world the deductable was $50.00. We brought the unit to a camping world site in Kissismee Fl. The cost of the repairs was $516.00. The protection plan uses manufactures labor hours and camping world uses its own labor hours based on some unknown calculation. The Good Sam policy ia administrated by a third party and they will cover the manufactories labor hours and have no way of adjusting to cover Camping Worlds labor hours. I would hope anyone purchasing a protection agreement from a dealer understand the deductable will probably never be the amount you thought it was going to be.

Just wondering if any of you have any experience with this, pros/cons. Thinking about it but then think in one year it will cost about $1500 with a $500 deductable.

good Sam extended Warrenty program

Sir,
I am a life member and also have my VIP insurance with GS.
I am not able to have my 2005 Chevy diesel insured because of the milage. It has 106 thousand on it. I would like to ask if you would consider extending this to a higher milage. I am just retired and will start traveling full time in Jan of 2013. I am presently living in our camper til my wife retires in November. I know the CEO is wanting to do more for its members and I believe that is a great advancement. I do hope you will consider this request and move foreward in helping those who are just starting out. A thought might be to raise the cost higher those from 100,000 to 110,000. Thank you for your consideration. Blessings.

good Sam Extended Warranty

Very dissappointed with Good Sam Extended Warranty. Eager to take your money, but when you have to use it, they dont want to cover anything. I cannot understand why the fittings on the hydraulics would not be a covered part? Do they cover anything?

good Sam Extended Warranty

I am really feeling I made a huge mistake in buying the GS Extended Warranty. The claims personnel are quick to find a way to not pay for service! Now I am out the cost of the policy in addition to the $2,000 plus it will cost to fix the hydraulics! I have lost faith in Good Sam products. Makes me worried now about what they will do on the Roadside Assistance if I get stranded.

good Sam Extended Warranty

I have had Good Sam ESP (used to be called CSP) on our diesel motorhome since 2007 when the original factory warranty expired. I also had GS years ago when we had a large Class C. I have always found them to be cooperative and they paid the bills they said they would pay.
If you have Good Sam ESP, a reminder: there is a time and/or mileage limit they will cover seals and gaskets on the chassis - 70,000 miles or 7 model years old. I just renewed coverage on my 2005 and bought the optional seals-and-gaskets coverage for about an extra $200 per year. You need this coverage (whether included or optional) because if a "covered" part goes bad (like a $20,000 engine) because of a non-covered part (like a $25 seal or gasket) you have no coverage.
We decided it was worth the extra $17 a month since we still put a bunch of miles on our MH.
