Anyone know of a good Kingdome repair shop in the Phoenix, AZ area, preferably close to Surprise, AZ? Will that shop come to your RV Park to service our dome?
Also, does anyone know where I can purchase the Diagnostic tool for our Model 9207? Thank you!
1) Does anyone know the amperage draw of a 9704 while it is searching ?
I seem to have a low voltage shutdown while searching, sometimes.
2) And this 9704 searches and peaks out the sat just fine, but if I don't shut it off, about 15 seconds later it takes off searching again, and peaks out again, this time staying there. It does this every time it needs to search out the 101 sat.
Is this normal operation ?
3) Will the 9704 find the 101 sat w/o the sat rec being on ?
Thanks for any info.
We have a new to us MH with Kingdome (model 9702 I think). I am totally unfamiliar with the workings of the Kingdome and found the paperwork that came with the MH less than helpful.
I ordered a second Directv receiver (model D12-700C-R)for use in the bedroom and MH. The installer set up the receiver in the bedroom and paired it up with the HD receiver/recorder already in the house.
After he left, I took the receiver out to the MH and hooked it up. The connections were well marked so I am comfortable that it is hooked up right. I do see the Directv screen on the TV.
I held the on button on the Kingdome for 4 seconds as directed on the box. It flashes green and red for a couple seconds and then flashes red. By sound, it is searching, just never finds anything. After about 12-15 minutes I turned it off for fear of burning the motor up.
How long should it take to find the satellite? Is there something else I should do or be aware of?
I have a problem with my Kingdome satellite dish runs for 2 seconds shuts off then, it will not search any more push the button to continue search and you get nothing but flashing lights, I also have the 771 communication error message I have contacted Kingdome and they idea is board I have removed the board for a visual inspection and see nothing the would suggest it failed ( no broken spots or hot spots or cracks. So My question is should I just replace the board (400.00) or the King dome I'm not sure this is the fix nor are the techs at Kingdom, generally when a board fails there are signs. it has voltage from receiver, and LED's are blinking away tills me all is fine but since I don't know what LEDs should be blinking I'm at a loss. This is beginning to annoy me and I hate it when things don't work any tips would be great, I even tried a standard receiver because it worked last time I used it this new receiver is HD.
Before I start, let me say that now that it works, my VuQube 2100 is every bit as good as King Controls says it is. It is fantastic.
Now, with that said, I bought a VuQube VQ2100 device a month ago. It didn't work. I was busy (aren't we all?) and could only work with it on rare occasions. It took me about 2 weeks to finally diagnose that the 18v power supply that King Controls packed in the box didn't work. That time frame was my fault.
Finally, on 4/8 I determined that the 18v power supply was dead, and called King Controls customer service. I explained my problem, my trouble shooting and conclusions. The service department said (paraphrasing here) 'no problem, we will ship you one.'
On 4/16 (8 days later) I had received no power supply and heard nothing from King Controls. I called them again. I was told I should have had it days ago, but to let him put me on hold while he checks. He came back to the phone to say it hadn't been shipped yet, but would go out TODAY. OK.
He called back about an hour later to say the problem was they were out of stock but would get some more in 2 or 3 days. He would ship me one then. He asked if I wanted a phone call when it was shipped so I would know when to expect it. I said yes, please.
On 4/23 (7 days later) I had received no power supply and heard nothing from King Controls. I called them again. This time, when I got them on the line, they said the shipment had come in on 4/22 and one had been shipped that day. He asked if I wanted a tracking number and I said yes. I gave him my email address and within a few minutes had a tracking number that did show a package in transit.
The 18v power supply finally arrived on 4/24. It took 3 phone calls and over 2 weeks to finally get a replacement of the defective part.
Now, I am not upset about the time frame. I do understand about out of stock issues. What I am upset about is the lack of communication. If they had called me on 4/8 or 4/9 or 4/10 when they realized they were out of stock, and not left me hanging watching for a delivery truck, I would have been fine with that.
So, I rate King Controls product an "A+", but I rate their customer service a "D" at best. There was no communication AT ALL from them.
