Atlantic coast
Hi;
We are living in S California and are planning right now our trip across the States to Atlantic coast. We going to travel in small class C rv, puling
small cargo trailer . We are on limited budget. We want to try to support
our trip by selling on flea markets, we will take some merchandises with us.
Our main business are musical instruments.
If someone on this forum makes living similar way, or knows someone who does, and can recommend good, well established flea markets, swap meets,
we would be very happy and appreciate it a lot. In general, we plan to
travel as close to the coast as possible , Golf of Mexico first, and Atlantic
following .
We are very curious about Georgia, South and North Carolina.
Never have been in these states before and would like to spend
longer time over there .
Can someone please advise, which areas in SC are the best to look for
not expensive camping or even for boon docking . We have solar
units in our rv and we are fine with dry camping .
Every piece of information is going to be appreciated.
regards
eva
RE: Gold prospecting
I belong to the GPAA.I started in the prospecting campgrounds around here.I use a highbanker/dredge,Sluice,and minni power sluice. After I bought the highbanker and 3" dredge hoses I found a farmer close by that lets me camp and gredge his creek.I also like to look for gems in the North Carolina mtns.
RE: Fayetteville NC
No boondocking in Fayetteville that I know of. We were there a few years ago and we didn't find anything suitable.
Anyway, it'll be kind of chilly there in December. (But then, you're from Ohio; Fayetteville, North Carolina can't touch Ohio for "chilly"!)
I-95 South Carolina/North Carolina Border
DW and I will be leaving Middle Georgia around 4 PM on Thursday and need to get close or a few miles into North Carolina before stopping. We will probably get to the border around 10. I saw that North Carolina Rest areas and the Walmart in Lumberton NC do not allow overnight parking. Is there a place nearby that will allow us to stop for 5 or 6 hours. We have to be in Delaware on Friday or we would stop earlier and a campground. Thanks,
RE: Bears at Eureka
Eureka, California? Eureka, Nevada? Eureka, Colorado? Eureka, Montana? Eureka, Utah? Eureka, North Carolina? etc.
We camp with cats and don't worry about bears breaking in to get them. (I threatened to rub bacon fat on them, but Allison wasn't too pleased with that idea! ;) ) My biggest concern was the special tuna flavored (and tuna odored) food that the diabetic cat eats. I thought that might be the biggest attraction, so we'd dispose of the can every night. And remember, we're in a PUP with all that canvas to let the odors out.
I wouldn't worry (depending on what Eureka you're in!)
