TST tpms battery change?

Do you know if there is a video or other clear instructions for a step by step, how to change the batteries? I have the oring kit from TST now and am waiting on some batteries I ordered. It looks like it might take some fine tools to change the rubber disks but I haven't taken one apart yet to look at it. Thanks for any suggestions! Moderator, Please post this where it is appropriate. Thank you

Tire pressure readings using a tpms

When using a TPMS how much increase in tire pressure is expected after driving for awhile. Also should the increase in pressure be the same for all tires.Cold pressure reading for all tires is equal. Thanks

Recommendations for a preferred tpms System.

My main concern is your preferred Vendor for a TPMS system.
My tow vehicle has the tire Pressure sensors mounted inside the rims.
The sensors match my external, hand held digital tire pressure gauge.
My concern is with the 4 tires on my dual axle tag along travel trailer.
I am considering purchasing and installing a TPMS system on the 4 tires for my tag along.
What about the Doran 360RV, the TST, or this another option to review and consider?

TST tpms 507 System and valve stem Question

I just ordered the TST TPMS 507 RV system for our Sunset Trail 20CK travel trailer. (4 sensors) I had read online, their website actually, that they recommend metal valve stems. When I called and asked them whether I needed the bolt in type of metal valve stem, or just the pull through type, they said that rubber stems were just fine with the new 507 system's smaller sensors. (Discount Tire asked me which type of metal stems I wanted)
The new sensors weight 12 grams, or about .42 ounces. In my research of TPMS systems, I noticed that Tire Traker also has small sensors, .3 ounces (per their website), and they too claim rubber valve stems are just fine.
We tow about 3000 miles per year, most are short trips of less than 60 miles, with 3 longer 300-500 mile trips.
Should I trust the sales guy at TST, or get metal?
If metal, which version (pull through or bolt in)? (we have aluminum wheels)
Your experience?
thanks ... Mike

TST tpms Battery Maintenance?

Been wondering what is best to do with the TPMS as far as battery life is concerned.
Sometimes (like last summer) the fifth wheel goes in the barn around mid April and resides there until Thanksgiving.
What do folks do about the batt in the monitor as far as getting the most life out of it?

Tire Pressure Monitoring System (tpms)

Do any of you have the "TIRE MINDER" brand TPMS? If so, do you like the way it operates? Would like to know the good and the bad.
Another question regarding any TPMS: When the senders are screwed on to the tire valves, do they ever leak?
Thanks.

Tadi Brothers tpms

My TST TPMS system (510) is beginning to have battery problems after 3 years. It costs $19.95 per sender to send them back to TST and have the batteries replaced. They have a newer system (507) that has replaceable batteries and also allows airing the tires without removing the senders, but the new senders don't work with the old monitor, so you have to buy a whole new system. For a 10 sender system, they want $599 plus shipping.
Tadi Brothers has a TPMS system that is comparable, i.e., you can fill the tire without removing the sender, and you can replace the batteries. It sells for about $100 less than the TST system. Anybody have any experience with Tadi Brothers TPMS? I have been completely happy with TST...until the batteries began going down.
Thanks in advance for sharing any insights you have about Tadi Brothers TPMS.

TST tpms did you require a repeater?

Looking at getting the TST TPMS.
Has anyone found it necessary to use a repeater?
How far away is your monitor from your trailer tires?

Tire Pressure & tpms Questions

I have not had any problems with my tires but decided to get the TST TPMS system for piece of mind. At least that was the idea :)
I currently have the sensors installed on the toad and the rear wheels of the motorhome. I am having a problem getting the sensors installed on the front tires but that is another story. So no readings from the front tires.
Early in the morning my TPMS shows all motorhome tires at 85 PSI and a temperature of 50.
I went on a test drive with the TPMS installed, just the motorhome, about 60 miles round trip on a two lane highway, some 55 MPH, some 35 MPH.
As I started out the TPMS showed the pressure increasing as expected. They mostly went up together.
Things leveled off at 104 PSI and 85 degrees. This wasn't one tire, they all went up to this range. The high pressure alarm did not go off but it was close.
An increase of almost 20 PSI seems excessive. What is this telling me? Should I be concerned?
Thanks,
Martin

New member tpms question

Hello all! We are new to the RV world and just purchased our first TT. I know that tire pressure is one of the most important factors in keeping the tires in good shape so I'm wondering if you guys can recommend a good TPMS system?
Thanks

Internal tpms

Has anybody used the TST TPMS with the sensors that mount inside the tire? It is time for new tires and I am seriously looking at having the sensors installed at the same time.
My concern is that a fair number of the external sensors fail and I don't want the hassle if the same holds true for the internal ones.

tpms question on readouts

Can someone tell me if the tire pressure monitors like the EEZ RV TPMS or the TST TPMS just tell you pressure and temp when there is an over/under temp alert or does it show temp and pressure all the time? Can you cycle through the tires and check pressures in the morning?

Disgusted with my Doren tpms system

I have a Doren Pressure Pro system in the coach. Years ago, when I bought it at an FMCA rally, I noticed in the paperwork that when the batteries die, the sensors could be sent in for $15 each.
So, here we are, maybe a half decade later. The sensors have pretty much crapped out. Somewhere a few months back, I found something on the 'net that the Doren sensors were now $35 each. Well, with the coach AND Jeep sensors, that's $350 for ten new sensors. (Not to mention all the fun of reprogramming them all to the receiver) I'm thinking "yeah, right" since I can buy an ENTIRE new system for not that much more money, and what would the sensors cost in another five years? $105? After all, we went from $15 to $35 in five years, so why wouldn't they triple in price yet again?
Frankly, I'm thinking I'd be an idiot to waste money on new sensors. Not only that, but all I can find now is the new Doren 360 system, with the same NON-replaceable battery issue. I can't find anything on Doren's website about replacement Pressure Pro sensors anyway. My thoughts is that in five years, the 360 will have moved on to something else like the Pressure Pro did, and the replacement sensor issue would be deja vu.
I'm looking at this system instead: EEZ RV Product TPMS system
The sensors have REPLACEABLE batteries. They show temperature too, which the Pressure Pro does not. They also make flow-thru sensors so you can inflate a tire without removing the sensor.

TST-507 tpms valve stem issue.

We have the TST-507 with the Flow Through sensors. On the RV, the sensors are on metal valve stems. On the tow vehicle the sensors are on short rubber valve stems.
Today we were west bound on I-10 near Palm Springs and the TST alarm sounded. I checked the display, and we had a slow leak detected on the passenger side rear tire of the TV. I grabbed the next off ramp and found a wide spot. Checked the tire and it was indeed going flat, I could hear the air leaking out. It wasn't the tire though, it was the rubber valve stem. It had a cut right at the tire rim, and was losing air.
A local tire company came out and popped in a new rubber stem to get us going. I will be changing out all of the rubber stems for metal stems on the TV ASAP.
We have over 10K miles since November 1st with this system. So there's been a ton of miles on these stems with the sensors mounted. I'm thinking that the stem just became fatigued from too much flexing.
So, the TST system saved us from a very expensive flat tire, but it was the root cause of the failure too.
Just posting this for the good of the forum.

TST tpms Question

I just purchased the TST 507 system with flow through sensors. I thought the flow through sensors would make life a lot easier.
Having got them I am having second thoughts. They are long and when I mounted one to my toad it extended over an inch beyond the wheel rim. I have the same problem, though not as bad, with the front wheels on the motor home.
Anybody using the flow through sensors? Had any issues with them?
I am concerned that parking along a curb I could rip the thing off.
Looking at their web site though it is hard to tell if the regular 507 sensors are really that much smaller. The flow through sensors are 2" long. How long are the regular sensors?
Given that you have to use the wrench to put the regular sensors on, is it something you can do without removing the metal wheel covers on your toad. Having to remove those every time I needed to put air in a tire would be a real pain.
I was planning on calling TST to see if I could swap sensors. Would you stick with the flow through sensors or try and swap them for the regular sensors?
TIA

My warning was on .topped all tires to 65 psi at cold and drove 50 kilometers.
Manual states drive 30 mph for 2-3 minutes to clear warning.
Mine is still on???
Anyone have experience with this?

tpms repeater

I had a lot of trouble with my tpms losing the signal on tires on my 5th. I sent it all in, they checked everything out and sent it back with a repeater to try to solve the problem. Anyone that has installed one of these where did you mount the repeater? I have read where some put it in a front closet, or the basement. I was wondering if on the outside under the overhang would be best. It should be protected fairly well there I would think. It is kind of hard to test it out at different locations when we are just sitting for the winter and will be a little work running power to the repeater and all.(trying to save a little work)
Thanks
