There doesn't seem to be any threads on mixed drinks. Just curious are there folks out there with bars in their rigs? If so, what is your favorite mixed drink and how do you make it?

I will add in here, I am strictly against drinking and driving. I advocate drinking resposibly. Please everyone use your head when consuming alcohol.

With that said. Tell us your drinks and how you make them.

Hi Tom. What a great photo you have in your sig!

I personally enjoy a Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum and Iced Tea.

Funny you should mention a bar in the RV because I was thinking that if we were to ever make a sign for ourselves to put outside the RV it would have to say "Bed & Bar" instead of "Bed & Breakfast".

Here is one that another forum member shared with me that I plan to try. Looks deelish.

If it's cool enough that a campfire feels good, there is NOTHING like hot chocolate spiked with a generous shot (read: "glug" while pouring!!) or 2 of Amaretto added. Some friends of ours who've been Fulltiming for the last 8 years shared a recipe for the BEST hot chocolate mix either of us have ever tasted...beats the store bought stuff hands down:

1 3lb can/box Nestle's Quick
1 8 quart box powdered milk
1 lb 10x (confectioner's) sugar
11 oz jar dry creamer (Sam's brand from WalMart or Sam's works best as it is VERY creamy)

Mix all ingredients well. Store in air-tight container.

This makes a TON of dry mix, so much so that we usually seal 1/2 of it in vacuum sealed bags and a single batch will last us several seasons. The beauty of it is that you have the control to make your hot chocolate as strong/rich or as weak as you choose.

Hey tiny paws, thanks for the contribution of non-alcoholic drinks too. Those are very welcome here too. Love to hear anything anyone has to drink sitting outside on a warm day or around that campfire.

Thanks for the comment on my picture ... believe it or not the dump station was back there by that leaning tree. I will be going to Death Valley for Thanksgiving, so i may change the pic to a new one then.

It was our first trip out and we hauled over CA Highway 17 to
Costanoa with a group of good (and some new) friends.
As we pull in to the space and start to unhook, we hear a
"chunk chunk blend whirrrrr) coming from a friend's trailer.

It is amazing how a blended margarita can take the tension
off after the first un-hitching :^) It was a convivial camping
trip.

(However, setting up bleachers and video-cams when first-timers
are hooking up at the other end is simply not fair :^) )

Take care,

Karen

Summer:

Sleazy Lady: ( Tastes like a milkshake )

In shaker: a touch of each: triple sec, creme de cacao white, Galliano, 2% milk to taste. and a few ice cubes. Shake well and drain into tall glass. Sprinkle top with grated nutmeg. One per customer please!

Winter:

Gotcha!

Steaming hot chocolate: 1 oz. Creme de menthe white: top with cream and 1/2 tsp of B&B. ( Also one per customer)

These are only to be consumed when you are parked and staying the night, Naughty but oh so good.

You gotta be kidding me!!?!?

This is it? There have got to be more mixers out there.

Shirley Temple or a B-52. I don't care what you drink, tell us what your favorite mixed is and how you make it.

There has got to be some good ones out there.

And just in case you are interested in other drinks and how to make them try: Webtender. It has over 6000 drinks, even includes 197 non-alcoholic and 34 optional alcohol drinks. You can also tell it what you have and it can tell you what you can make.

Enjoy and share

Tom
