This is good, even better the 2nd day. Add a pan of corn bread and you're all set on a cold windy night
Ham & Cabbage Soup
1 cup of Diced ham
1 cup cubed chicken
2 potatoes peeled and diced
2 Carrots diced
2 celery diced
1 can diced tomatoes
1/2 head cabbage, sliced thin
2 cans chicken broth or bullion
1/2 tsp basil
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp garlic minced or to taste
black pepper/salt to taste
Put every thing in pot. (Good for crockpot all day cooking.) Cook until done. You may have to add more chicken stock or tomato juice.
Hello Robbie,
With cooked cabbage I would rather keep the wind in my face!
I don't doubt your cabbage soup tastes good but why all the varied ingredients? You skipped the mushrooms, the shrimp and the green chile. I would never mix ham and chicken. It confuses my taster.
I am mostly teasing but I find that too many spices and garnishes just cover up what you are eating. I really like boiled meat and potatoes (with green chile). Give us some more recipes.

Mr. Pace, said that!
