2 40 oz cans canned yams
1 cup pecans
orange juice
maple syrup
honey
cinnamon
cloves
nutmeg
brown sugar
1 tub Philly honey nut cream cheese
1/2 block reg. cream cheese
eggs
brown sugar
1 stick butter/oleo
flour

In food processor, blend drained yams, about 1/2 cup OJ, about 1/4 cup each of honey and maple syrup, a few shakes of each of the spices, and about 1/4 cup brown sugar, and 2 eggs. Process until very smooth. Put in casserole dish. Wash processor. Next, place both cream cheeses in, one egg white, dollop of honey, and blend. Scrape out over yams. Wash processor, dry well. Next put ~ 1 cup nuts in, 1 stick butter, ~ 1/2 cup brown sugar, ~ 1/4 cup flour, and a couple of shakes of cinnamon. Process, pulsing, until nuts are broken and mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle evenly over cream cheese.
Bake at 350 for about 45 min., keep an eye on topping, if it starts to get too dark cover with foil. This is mouthwatering.

Leo; You are the man, the wife and I made this up to nite for Turkey day and it almost didn't make to the fridge, we added a shot of Napoleon Brandy for a little extra. Although I have to say this dish is literally finger licking good without it. Thanks for the recipe.

Leo, this sounds like it might replace the sweet potato, apple and pecan casserole we've had in this family since the 40's! Too late for today; my sister in New Haven is bringing it this time, but I will make it for Christmas.
Didn't you say it's low-cal?
Oh, and Woodman....what (or who!) wouldn't be better for a little good brandy? I made traditional fruitcake last month and moistened them with Courvoisier. You know how you're supposed to let them ripen a month? LOLOL. Two already are history.
Happy Thanksgiving to you both.

Leo;
Just a little update, We served the casserole at dinner for family and friends with quite a few remarks and request for the recipes, I told the quest that it was an old secret family recipe and that I couldn't give it out, but one of my own ratted me out by "isn't this the one you got from the net?" So anyway thanks for the great dish, there wasn't one morsel left, Think maybe I should make another one to go with left overs?
Hope you and Heathertee had a great Thanks Giving.

thanks for the kind words, Woodman. Hope you had a great day too. Myself, next time, i might replace the OJ with an apple liquor or brandy (Calvados??)... or maybe cinnamon schnapps??

Oh Boy! This sounds delicious!!!

May those who love us love us.
And those that don't love us,
May God turn their hearts.
And if He doesn't turn their hearts,
May he turn their ankles,
So we'll know them by their limping.
