Anyone got a good recipe for sweet potato pie? Most people that have one will make it for you but won't give out the recipe. Kinda works that way with BBQ sauce too.

LC,

I'm sorry I can't help you with my own particular recipe for SP Pie, but if you try here—epicurious.com—and search for Sweet Potato Pie, you'll find lots of them that sound delicious.

I have known people who had excellent recipes and refused to give them out. Unfortunately, all those people have died now and the rest of us will never have an opportunity to enjoy those wonderful dishes again. Why are some people so selfish with their recipes anyway? I feel better now! Hope you get some other good ones for that SP Pie!

You can't get us confused. I'm also "Nice", but NYYYCE is Never "Easy"!

Heres my favorite...two cups cooked mashed sweet potatoe...1 regular can sweetened condensed milk (eagle brand most common but I use store brand too)...2 Eggs...1/4 tsp salt, 1-2 Tbs cinnamon, 1 tps ground cloves 1/2 tsp ginger. Pour into pie shell, bake in 400 preheated oven for 15 min turn down to 350 continue for 35-40 min or until a knife blade inserted 1 inch from center comes out clean....now I do have a excellent bbq sauce too...in fact by hband won't eat the jar stuff ever. so now I make it and freeze it so I can take batches already prepared when we goooo.

Cliff & Lynn Martha (both Retired Marines)...Semper Fi Cedar Creek 29LRGBS, Ford F-250 SD 7.8 two Furry kids Gunney and Coriander Decolores:) [purple]If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence you tried. I find people who are stingy with their recipes will do well if you offer to TRADE them a recipe!
