Anyone have any good tips on grilling corn on the cobb? I've always boiled it but I would like to learn how to grill it.
Thanks.

I grill corn the following way

Soak in water with husks on for 2-3 hours

After charcoal is at cooking temp (or gas grill) LEAVING HUSKS on, grill until tender. Remove husks and enjoy.

If you're in a hurry you can microwave it for 4-5 minutes (4 to 6 ears at a time)then finish it on the grill.

I've done it with the husks on, but you can also take the husks off, wrap in tin foil and put them right on the grill. Put them around the edges where it is not so hot while you grill the meat in the middle.

I pull the shuck down, not off, and clean the straw from the cob first, then wrap the shuck back up and then soak in water for a couble hrs. and grill on the edges for about 10-15 min. or untill tender.

I fix my corn on the cob on the grill in the same manner that Dale posted. The trick is to get the husks soaked well, the moisture is what steams the corn.

When I fix corn on the cob in the microwave, I remove the husks, wash realy good and while still damp, I wrap up in Saran Wrap. Starting at one corner, roll up and tuck the sides in. Microware about 1 to 2 minutes per ear, then let them set for about 5 minutes before serving. They will steam in the Saran Wrap. Any left over corn, toss in the frig and re-heat in the same Saran wrap for next use. This works very well.

Garlic butter with a dash or so of your favorite hot sauce (Franks, Crystal, whatever), salt and pepper, wrap in tinfoil, then put on the grill NOT OVER DIRECT FLAME. Off to the side, or on the warming rack for 10 minutes or so....

I tear back the husk but leave intact on the stalk, take out those corn hairs, get some softened butter and spread on the corn with a bit of salt and pepper. Place the husk back where it should be, then wrap in foil and place on grill. The butter melts and broils inside the husk for a great treat.
Sometimes I will get a sprig of rosemary and place in the husk as well. Some do not like the taste of rosemary but I do.
