Does anyone have any Easy venison ideas. I don't eat it so I really don't know how to cook it. My husband eats the stuff and he would really be surprised if I cooked some for him. I think that we have tenderloins in the frezer. I hate to see it go to waste!
Thanks Everybody

For a nice dinner I take the roasts and soak them in warm water mixed with Lipton beefy onion soup mix for a few hours. Then I throw in the carrots, cellery and a few spices. Cook it up for 2 hours at 300 degrees then add potatoes. Cook for another hour. UMMMMMMMM GOOOOOOOOD! For steaks and chops I marinate them in italian salad dressing overnight and throw them on the grill. Good luck and I am sure he will enjoy.

We love venison. I really like a venison stew. Make it the same way you'd make a beef stew. MMMMM Or just fry it in a pan with some butter, garlic, onion, green pepper and what ever kind of veggie you have. The secret to venison IMO is to "not over cook it". We use venison instead of beef for any dish. If you have any ground venison, sloppy "doe" as the kids call it is super!

Title: Venison Marinade
Description:
When you read these ingredients you will think I am crazy but you have to try this. This will make you a deer meat lover.
Ingredients:
2-3 lbs. tenderloin or other tender parts
1 1/2 oz of blue cheese (I used Blue Cheese Salad Dressing).
1 large clove of garlic
1 Tbs Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tbs Teriyki sauce
1/2 cup cooking oil
2 Tbs Folgers Coffee Crystals
1 Tbs Soy Sauce
1 Tbs salt (more if marinade taste bitter but be careful not to get to much).
1 tsp coarse black pepper
Mix all ingredients together (except meat) in a blender
put meat and marinade in plastic container for at least 12 hrs.
Grill meat in usual manner but don't get it to dry or overcooked
This is GREAT try it ED
Directions: Cook on Grill, the oil in the marinade will drip off onto the hot coals and the smoke will help flavor the steaks.
This is a great way to fix DEER

Wvbik9, this sounds very interesting. Does the coffee have to be instant coffee of just the kind you put in a coffee maker? Sorry not a coffee drinker either.
Thanks all, They all sound good and sounds like you could even use these with beef to. Has anyone ever done that?
Thanks

Mix a marinade of 1/2 olive oil, 1/2 dry wine then add a little lemon juice and some pepper.
Let tenderloins soak in marinade for a couple of hours in refrig.
Cook on outside grill until about medium. Whatever you do don't over cook. Venison is very low in fat (about like turkey white meat) and will dry very badly if over cooked.
Trust me; I cook about 150 pounds of venison a year.

You need to use instant coffee as it will mix up with the other ing. Regular coffee woulld leave coffee grounds. Don't want coffee grounds.
I know this sounds wild but you will not be sorry. I might mix up a batch for my self, I have a little deer meat left in the freezer.
Good luck on however you fix it.

wvbike_99,
Sound interesting but I don't know about the bleu cheese dressing. Would ranch work as well? Never could stomach bleu cheese.
I use ground venison any way you use ground beef. Tacos, stroganoff, or just a burger on a bun. Long as it isn't an old swamp buck it tastes great.

lcruzen,
Try your ground venison in your normal meatloaf recipe. It works great to replace hamburger in meatloaf.
