not in our town, the gang members use the parking lot for their own personal gun range. We have had a few drive by's here. Some towns do not allow over nighters also

There is nothing wrong in spending the night at a WalMart parking lot. Many times when we are traveling and it's late we will pull into a Walmart or a Rest Area and catch a couple of hours of sleep. However, be courteous and ask permission of the store manager. WalMart should only be used for an overnight rest stop, not a campground. Be courteous, park away from normal customer parking and clean up any mess that you make.

I would not want to stay at Walmart parking lot. It's just too busy. Home depot would be better. Roadside rest area would be better for us. I've seen posts recommending limiting stay at Walmart to two or three days which I think is really strange but to each their own. Good luck / Skip

I think those people aer a little paranoid. Yeah, there's always a possibility something could happen, but people need to use a little common sense. If I see several other RV's there, I think it would give a semblence of safety. Just look around the WalMart before parking there. Ask the store manager, first for permission to stay, and second, about the area. Any problems with crime rates, etc.? Just common sense.

I would feel just as safe in a war zone as a rest area. There is too much "rifraff" in a rest area after dark. This is advice from an old truck driver who has had to use them to keep from having log book violations. But not with my family with me. By the way, where was John Malvo captured?

Bubbabod I agree with you. No problem staying at Wal-Mart with permission but not at a rest area.
