went on on bike ride on a rail trail today in lisbon ohio. its way out in the country. you know, beutifull and then a junk yard in someones front yard...... well, one of the locals had two old dodge class c's in thier back yard. been there for a long time, but not too bad. shame they dont use them or sell them to a happy camper.

well just got my first motorhome.
a little about me
i buy and trade cars and trucks all the time, i have had 23 in the last 4 years.
i am 23 living with my girlfriend at her parents house for now. they are moving and we have been looking for a place. well found a deal on a 79 dodge midas motorhome and ended up trading my 70 baja vw bug for it. so we are about to be full timing it while she finishes her last year of college. then we will prob travel south and find work in a warmer climate
drove it 60 miles home. drives great
tore alll of the carpet out ugly nasty stuff. replacing the rear with laminate tile. the cab is getting new carpet
fridge does not work so its coming out in favor of a dorm fridge
electric works good.
water is anther story the holding tank works but if i hook the rv to water from a hose it leaks like crazy
roof is a little soft in places and will prob replace next spring. hae yet to take a hose to it to see if it leaks po said its been fixed.
we all know how that goes.
floors are all in great shape and ill take pictures of the work we are doing soon.

It's been a long while since I wrote about my Midas Mini redo. Sometimes it feel that the only thing that is not new is the tub but it has been worth it. The interior has held up well over the past five years, The roof is super since it all had to go. The headers and short dual exhaust keeps me at 9.5 mpg if I stay at 55mph or less.
All was fine until the main spring on the awning let loose on the freeway and I had the whole enchilada all over the freeway. Fortunately no other consequences to others on that.
After deciding to bite the bullet and replace the awning and repair some body damage I found a new 28" door for $80. I provided the retired guys a summer of entertainment as I Installed the door, sanded, primed, sanded, prepped, and painted her in my front driveway. Adding the new awning and some graphics plus a homemade loon graphic she looks pretty good for a 1976 rig. Color is International Harvester white from Farm and Home.
