It's that time of the year and do you have apples to use up? Here is a simple recipe that I have made for years...

Apple Pizza

8" or 9" 2 Crust Pie crust
6-7 Tart Apples (sliced thin)
1/2 Cup Sugar
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon

Prepare pastry, Roll out 1" larger then pizza pan, put pie crust on pizza pan and make an edge around pan like on pizza's. Peel apples and slice thin and mix with sugar and cinnamon mixture. Lay apples around pizza pan and sprinkle with topping.

Topping:

3/4 Cup Flour
1/2 Cup sugar
1/2 cup Firm Margarine (not a spread I use Nucoa)
Mix with a pastry blender or two forks till crumbly. Sprinkle over apples.
Bake *450 for 30-40 minutes or till lightly brown and apples are tender.

My pastry recipes that I use.
2 Cups Flour
1 Cup Crisco
1 Teaspoon salt
Ice water (as much as you need to make pastry workable)

With pastry blender or two forks mix flour, Crisco, and salt till crumbly. Add water mix till workable.

Yum, yum. We'll be spending some time with a few other families over Labor Day and we are planning on having an 'Italian Feast'. Last year was Mexican Night. I wonder if I could pass this off as Italian with a twist?!? Thanks for sharing!

WOW! Sounds good. I have a big apple tree loaded with apples so I will be trying this right away. Might sprinkle some raisins over it too. And maybe a little pecan chips. yumyumyum

Hey, ol'blue, I have a son in Bremerton; 17-year Navy man.

Funny, today's paper had a recipe for this very thing only using frozen puff pastry. Sounds good to me either way!
