These are great for camping....

One can or roll of those type of biscuits that you hit on the side of the counter and they pop open...

you can use the cheap ones or the flaky types...doesn't matter

take each biscuit and flatten out with your fingers

drop each biscuit in a cast iron skillet filled with your bacon grease...fry on each side until golden brown..they will puff up a little...

put on a paper towel to drain excess grease

serve with butter and syrup

mmmmmmm mmmmmm good!

or you can flatten out two of them together then fill with a teaspoon of apple or cherry pie filling...fold in half lenghtwise and seal edges with your fingers and fry on both sides....

Sounds like a good kid recipe too Let them flatten the biscuits out, add filling, fold, seal with fingers. Mom, Dad, big Sis or Bro can help fry them up. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar (or confectioner's sugar maybe, a bigger mess, therefore they must taste better, right?) and serve. Oh yeah... I can see it now. I'll have to get my granddaughter over and have her help...after all, you must try before you hit the open road?

Thanks for the great idea.

My girls used to take those "right now" bisquits and roll them out about 1/8" thick on a cookie sheet. Score them into 1" squares with a table knife and bake for a while (?). Then put them in a brown paper bag with cinnamon sugar and shake them up. It's a great snack with cold milk.

Sometimes they cut the thin dough into strips and wrapped around a weiner then pinched the edges together and baked for a while (?).

My kids were always very inventive.

I stick my finger thru the center and shape into a donut...fry each side about 20 seconds and roll in cinnimon & sugar, powdered sugar, or chocolate frosting

Oh, YUM!
Now I have to ask, has anyone tried using the ready-made puddings to fill the crescent rolls?
Someone else will have to try this; I am back on Atkins
