Our popup has a bag awning which we find to be a pain to put up and down quickly..

is there a mod for a self storing awning? (I assume this means I just need to attach poles, and pull down??)

..Just trying to make my life easier...

I purchased the A & E Catalina 2500 awning from Camping World. Best money I have spent on our PU!

Here is another "view" of our awning! You can better see the "canister" that it "stores" in. Simple to put up and take down, ONE person can do it in LESS than a minute!

Several companies, A&E (Dometic), Carefree of Colorado, Fiamma, make self storing awnings and you can even get a powered one.
Keep in mind they won't be cheap and will add a few pounds over the traditional bag type awning.
After a lot of searching and comparing, IMHO the best awning for the money was Carefree's Campout model. It's a bag type awning but is the easiest to deploy and comes with legs that can be used in the traditional upright (carport) style or attached to the trailer's side.

I have a Carefree of Colorado CampOut awning and I wouldn't give it up for anything. It is worth it's weight in gold. Takes me less than 2 minutes to put up or take down. Plus I can do it totally by myself.

We also have the Carefree of Colorado Campout on our 2005 Rockwood and we love it! Set up and take down is a snap. On our first nite out in our new PU a huge storm was about to blow thru, DW wakes me up at 4AM and tells me to take the awning down and I did in about 3 minutes flat.

This is spooky the first time we were out after buying the camper we had the exact same thing happen. Except it was about 2am, I ran outside in my PJ's and put it down and back in the camper in less than 2 minutes. All around us the next morning I saw several motorhomes with severe damage to there awnings, ours was just fine.
