I am looking for a recipe that I used to make, but I've forgotten the proportions. It has jello powder, cottage cheese, and cool whip. You can add drained canned fruit. I've done searches here, on jello, and cool whip.
Here are 3 recipes for you. I don't know if the 1 you're looking for is here - but you could substitute most anything I would think..
I make a Orange/pineapple jello that has 2 c buttermilk and coolwhip in it and it is really good. Can't taste the buttermilk, it just gives it a slght tangy flavor.

ORANGE COOL WHIP SALAD
1 pt. cottage cheese
1 (3 oz.) pkg. orange Jello
1 sm. can mandarin oranges
1 sm. can crushed pineapple
1 (9 oz.) pkg. Cool whip
Mix cottage cheese and Jello. Add drained fruit and most of the Cool Whip. Mix and serve in a dessert dish or on a lettuce leaf.
LIME JELLO SALAD
1 pkg. lime jello (3 oz.)
12 lg. marshmallows
1 c. cottage cheese
1 c. hot water
2 c. crushed pineapple, drained
1 c. Cool Whip
Bring to a boil 1 cup of hot water and 1 pkg. lime jello. Take off heat and add marshmallows and stir until melted. Cool but do not let thicken. Add cottage cheese, pineapple and Cool Whip. Add maraschino cherries (well-drained) and put into a mold and refrigerate.
Dessert Surprise
1 large container cottage cheese
1 large container cool whip
1-2 envelopes strawberry instant jello
Combine cottage cheese and cool whip.Sprinkle in jello powder until you get color and flavor you want.
(May use any flavor jello)
Can also add nuts,well drained pineapple or any thing else you may like.Keep refrigerated(6-8 servings)
The last one is similar to the recipe I have, I had just forgotten the excat amounts. I'd like your recipe for the one adding buttermilk if you'd like to share it.
3/4 cup water
1 can crushed pineapple
1 small pkg. raspberry jello
1 cup cottage cheese
1 cup cool whip
Heat water and pineapple to boiling. Add Jello and dissolve, place in refrigerator until a soft jell is formed. Add cottage cheese and cool whip. Refrigerate
Here you go Sharrlan. No one in my family except myself does buttermilk. The fist time I served it, it got "Oh this is good" - but the looks on their faces :E when I told them it had buttermilk in it was priceless :D

Orange Buttermilk Salad
1 can [20 oz] crushed pineapple undrained
1 package [6 oz] orange gelatin
2 cups buttermilk
1 carton [8 oz] whipped topping
In a saucepan, bring pineapple to a boil. Remove from heat, add gelatin and stir until dissolved. Add buttermilk and mix well. Cool to room temp. Fold in whipped topping. Refrigerate several hours.
