1 lb. Ground round (Costco's ground beef is pretty good, too)
1 pkg. Lipton beefy onion soup mix
2 Tbs. Dale's Seasoning
2 Tbs. honey
(makes several patties)
It can also be found at military PXs or BXs if you know anyone in the military.

Thanks for sharing your recipe Bill. Most everyone likes a good hamburger, but I never would have thought of using honey. Do you mix the honey in with the meat before cooking?

FWIW...Dale's Seasoning is fine...but is nothing more than seasoned soy sauce. Check the label...soy sauce, garlic & onion powder. Why pay three prices for this??
I'll have to try the honey....been there done that on the rest of the ingredients. Given my experimental Southern bent, I may have to substitute blackstrap molasses for the honey:-)

The recipe isn't mine. It comes from Dale's site. I had my introduction to Dale's recently with that recipe at a BBQ, and absolutely loved it, and thought I would share here.
The honey is mixed in before cooking.
And, yes, it is indeed seasoned soy sauce. But really good seasoned soy sauce.
Some things are so good we just buy them. Like Watkins bbq marinade concentrate. We use it full strength for onion slices and red peppers on the grille.

I've always enjoy a good burger, and being a parrothead, Cheeseburgers are my favorite. I used to use Heinz 57 sauce on them just like in the song.
Since Theresa Heinz-Kerry became known, I've decided that I can't stomach that woman. I've rid the house of Heinz products. I'm sad to say, no more "Cheeseburgers in Paradise".

You might consider A1 or HP sauce instead of Theresa's 57, then. As a side issue, the sauce is not her fault. She married into the fortune, not the sauce. I used A1 until I discovered HP. With the minced onion, as INSAYN mentioned. Heck, even worcestershire (another seasoned soy sauce) makes a burger better.
If you don't use a sauce, a little seasoned salt with the minced onion is good, too. And try a trifle of oregano. If you used dried oregano, soak it in a tiny bit of water or white wine before mixing it in the meat to release the flavor more fully. If you do add oregano, you might want to back off a little on the seasoned salt.
GEEZE, all this burger talk makes me want to BBQ right now.
