Does anyone know if they have caulking removal liquid? Am i opening up a can of worms by doing this due to probably not sealing the window properly with the new caulking. what is the cost to have someone remove the windows and replace the caulking?
thanks

IMO, the best and only caulking removal liquid is a blunt putty knife and a ton of elbow grease. Blunt so you don't dig in and damge the surface. Thats what I used when I peeled my roof off. Any liquid that is strong enough to disolve caulking, is strong enough to ruin a lot of other things.

RV Today had a segment where they showed how to replace a window in an RV and it didn't look too bad. There is a flange on the inside that you have to take off; it holds the window in place, remove the window from the outside, scrape off the old sealant, replace the window and reseal. Bill Gerr made it look easy!

I watched the repairmen replace a window in our coach and that is exactly what they did - unscrewed the screws on the inside, removed the inside frame, removed the window, cleaned off the old caulking around the opening, applied new caulk, placed the new window in the opening, replaced and screwed the inside frame in. Took them about 20 mins, tops. It was a two man job, tho, to be sure the window stayed in place until it was attached.
