Yes, when the electric start kit is available I will be installing it.
Floyd.......The availability of the remote start does have me thinking....It's not easy for a man like me to deal with all the options. The whole "Kid in a candy store" thing..............

Racefan1965,

I thought you might like to have up-date on my C46540. Well, you got me thinking about the 'simple thing' I always did like to KISS, as in, keep it simple stupid. So my C46540 is now back in it's great simple state. I had a pretty elaborate sound lower enclosure. You have previously mentioned being 100% disabled. Later you let us know it's your legs not the upper body. Your mind is good, lol. Your keyboard works well. And there are others who would like to have some simply solution for sound lowering if at all possible. Professor put me to thinking a long time ago about different possible ways to make something portable. We are working with a PORTABLE genset after all. I will now go about constructing (just one answer) a more simple enclosure. The material is all in hand. All the materials except the fan are from HD and Lowe's. A two hour project at the most. I will let you know later the dBA.

Brad, The excitement of a kid in a candy store?, how about a old buzzard like me?, I still like the sweet stuff. Electric Start and a remote for little Champ? she might take the cake

Floyd

Well Floyd, the doctors say I'm only disabled from the waist down but the DW says it's from the neck up at times.lol I'd love to see what you come up with for a simple portable sound enclosure set up Floyd. I've always loved ingenuity. Especially when partnered with simplicity.

Rick,

You have proven to be a man of good judgment. And I like your idea of simplicity. At this time I must defer and further posts of my projects in sound lowering to Professor, Champion and others. Back to the future and solutions from others.

At the suggestion of Professor, I emailed Mr. Paul Cole some time back and I had also sent in my Warranty Card so my address was on file. In the mail this week was a item intended to kill all the RED NECKS in Texas.lol Well, sort of. lol. I had ask for a Champion Flag in that request of long ago. So here was the answer that came in the mail. It's a Ad-Flap extender for a cap to cover the neck. Champion no less, logo. He says the Caps may be available later. My thought is the beanie weenies (bean counters) @ Champion are way to slow. But it's a freebie and Mr. Cole states anyone can request one, to just email him! So folks get in on the action.

.....way too slow?

I remember a movie (Bruce Almighty) from a few years back (2003) directed by Tom Shadyac with Jim Carrey, Morgan Freeman, and Jennifer Aniston. Carey played a guy who complains about God too often not immediately answering his prayers the way he wants. God (Morgan Freeman) gives Carey almighty powers to teach him a lesson about trying to make everybody happy all of the time. One of the best parts, in my opinion, was when Carey opened his e-mail to find millions of messages asking for something – like winning the lottery. Knowing he could not individually answer each, he just globally told everyone “yes” to their prayers. Of course, if you saw the movie, you know the chaos that resulted.

I too have found myself in situations where I really wanted to please everyone all of the time and just could not do it. The most recent was my tenure as Dean at ITT Tech in Richmond. No matter how hard I tried and how much time I put into my effort, I was always behind and some folks were disappointed that I did not either immediately answer their questions, return a phone call or zip back an e-mail.

My solution to this dilemma was, of course, to clone myself with a workforce of folks who thought, felt and responded in an identical manner. For reasons of economy (not enough money) it did not happen. Well, actually, no one wanted the job of being a clone anyway.

At some point it dawned on me that maybe I should just forget about voice mail, e-mail and snail mail and ignore any and all requests that did not immediately put money into my pocket. You know a lot of folks and companies do that nowadays. But, that was not my character and I continued to bludgeon along days or even weeks behind suffering the wrath of those who were impatiently waiting for my response.

I have met Paul Cole from CPE. He is one of those Bruce Almighty sort of guys who is in a position of wanting to develop an impeccable reputation for customer service from his tech support team. I empathize with his persistence to address customer needs. I do not think the man sleeps. He personally tries to look out for every customer – or even non customer. Often, this is a daunting to impossible task.

The important thing is you were not lost or forgotten. It may have taken a while, but you never disappeared from his radar.

Oh, I like the “Red Neck” analogy. Yes, the yellow ad flaps will keep the sun off of your neck if you poke them under your ball cap. But, one thing bothers me. I thought Red Necks were only found in my part of the country – not Texas. Guess the summer migration has begun!
