I've seen plans on the internet to build your own truck camper but has anyone actually done it?

Thanks!

Have you seen the latest issue of this old house? Somebody took a logging truck (1940 something) and built a home on it. It looks awesome!!!www.mrsharkey.com

Lots of people pick blue prints for a house, buy a lot, and hire contractors to build their own homes.

So it begs the question - could building a camper be done with a similar methodology to how people build homes? Pick a blue print, buy the materials, hire a few contractors...

I must be crazy.

Whenever I have launched into a project like that I have ended up paying more and getting less than what I could have gotten if I had bought it ready made.
