Not sure if this is the right forum to post this.
I'm begining to think that 2 moped motor bikes would be better than a toad for us. Less toll charges, less insurance, better gas milage with moped and motorhome, cheaper to purchase, no backing up problems and if I need a car I will rent one providing I am near a fair sized city.
However, I am looking for a hard shell to stow the cycles in while I travel. Preferably one that is lockable. I have searched the internet and have found nothing. I don't want to buy new cycles and expose them to all the elements and road dirt.
Has anyone heard of a hauler like that??
I think the weight of the two cycles will be about 200 lbs.
Thanks for your comments..

We use a moped on a carrier that fits into the hitch receiver. The moped is open, but we just clean it up. Very economical, fun, and convenient (except when it is raining). We also rent cars sometimes. I have never seen an enclosed carrier. Some people cover their cycles with a canvas cover, but I know some have had poor fitting covers rub the paint off the bike. Good luck,

I haven't used one of these but hear that they are good for keeping a motorcycle being towed behind a motorhome, clean.

Be warned that some campgrounds now prohibit scooters, motorcycles, etc. I think the intent is to stop kids from riding round and round the campground.
Besides the obvious lack of enjoyment riding them in the rain, some areas have a lot of fast trafic. In my area, there are very few bike paths, and the traffic on the roads is fast and furious. A bit too dangerous to ride on many of the roads since many mopeds have a very limited speed. There are some places they'd be great to ride, so while they may be fun at times, I can see where they'd get limited use other times.
I've seen some custom racks on the back of MHs that would easily hold a couple of mopeds. Not sure there's a commercial available equivalent.

use a modified 'vers haul' cargo rack on the front of our 82 pace arrow 32ft to carry to small hondas. rack is mounted to both frame rails
works great, No worry about Tail dragging the bike carrier
but I can't Bag the bikes, { must maintain air flow to radiator } just drap a cover as far as the seats and bungee it in place
I did this with our previous motorhome also, have been doing it for a least 8 years
a good moped will run 30 miles an hour, DO not buy an Iwoa model they are restricted to 25mph also one other state NY or NJ [ i think ]
there is a commercial rack that that mounts to a hitch receiver and carries 2 mopeds or scooters and has all the nesscessary tie down points
I'll try and find the link & or a pix, it's in some backup files someplace

We pull two 1985 Honda Elite scooters behind the Cross Country DP.

Coming in at 250 lbs a piece plus the trailer at less than 500 the DP doesn't even know they are there.

We have two Yamaha Zumas (about 200lbs a piece) mounted on a Versa hauler carrier that fits into our receiver. Never saw an enclosed carrier for the scooters but you may want to keep in mind the weight you are adding to the rear of the MH. Hope this helps.

Considering attaching hitch carrier on Class A and doing the same but don't need enclosure. We want electric one's sturdy enough to carry us. Some are so flimsy. Run to a close store, around campground, take-out food stuff... not sight-seeing. Renting a car for all else has worked for us.
My husband is 6'4" and wants sturdy...think electric scooters not a good option?

On short trips, we take a legalized Honda XR650R with buddy pegs on a hitch carrier. We snake a long security cable through the chassis & all pilferable components for security. It gets a bit warm & dirty back there, but no worse for wear. The handlebars & tie-down points allow the bike to standoff almost a couple of feet away from radiator, allowing good ventilation. So I imagine a normal cycle cover could be used & would keep it clean.
The upside, since I’m not towing, is I can legally run over 55mph in California & backup to my hearts content! Also, the advantage of a converted dirt bike is that it’s powerful enough for two-up riding on any road, yet light enough & maneuverable to take sightseeing on or off the road.
