Yep, that works to change the image's physical size in pixels, but it may not do enough to reduce the actual file size which is usually the bigger issue. RVSnowbird had a thread here that talked about Irfanview (available here) that does both, and does a good job of it! It is also a free download.

I'm running XP and find that, by using the program-*Photo Organizer*, I can both *crop* and *reduce* my photos to just about any size I want.

DavidG,
As you can see it reduced the original picture from 325kb down to 12.5kb and still is a good viewable picture, you can't ask for much more than that.

RVForever,
Thanks for all you are doing to help other members out. I have posted links in the Towing forum to both of your posts here (the one sticky at the top and this one). I have used your info to fix my signature and was not even aware that I had the resize option in my XP. Sure do appreciate all your efforts!

I get a resize pictures only when I right click on a .bmp (bitmap) photo. I can't get the resize pictures if I right click on a .jpg (jpeg) photo. What gives?

good info RVForever and very well done. As for DavidG's comment, yes I will continue to use IrfanView for this function but what you are saying is that is something available without downloading another program. From my standpoint, it's the end result is the goal and whatever it takes to get there is the means!

p.s., if your screen prints of your computer files are an example old buddy, you got a bunch of weird stuff there

Yes I too want to publicly thank RVForever for helping me with my signature pic.

I went to BarnyS, towing area and tried to work my way in on getting mine to work. Saw several others frustrated as well. Saw the trail from RVForevers and RVSnowbirds work.

Tried my best and still could not get the thing to post. RVForever helped me off line, fixed my sig file for me and sent it to me. WOW!!

Now while I have not mastered this just yet, I am using the Infaview and figuring out how to use it. Last night I updated my profile and tried my hand at my rig pic. Still not great, but I'm getting better.

Again, RVForever, thanks. You are a true camper and new friend. And a thanks to the others helping me out with there detail posts that I can follow.

Thanks

PS. AS with any inet download, watch out for the spyware that can come with it. I had to evict some unwanted stuff when I loaded mine.
