i agree with angels gamma and meeshy... if you want to do the poker tournament, go ahead, but could we try to find somewhere other than the pavillion to do it? my issue is that if the pavillion is tied up all day friday, i might now have time to organize any kids activities. families may want to go on the battlefirld tours on saturday, so there wont be time then. also, sunday is departure day, so that's out of the question. someone had said that kids activities shouldnt be so late (bill and diana. i think) and i totally agree. so that would leave friday and saturday to do things for the kids. just want to know everyone's opinion on this. thanks, nicole

I think that Bill/Diana stated it best. It's not a good family activity. So, unless I hear a lot of complaints in the other direction, we will drop the poker idea.
However!
The good part about the tournament was getting a lot of us together for a while on Friday.
Let's hear some other uggestions of things we can do as a group on Friday!

I hope the poker tournament doesn't get dropped. First we should see how many people would actually play. If it gets a large turn out, make it 2 days from noon to maybe 4PM. Keep increasing the blinds every 3 hands. After the 2 days if people still want to play, start a head to head match. If people had enough after the 2 days, the 3 with the most chips win.
Remember people, it may be a poker tournament, but it's also a charity event.
I think that's why I don't want to see it get canceled. There might be 3 winners at the rally, but there will be more winners to the charity you decide to donate the proceeds to. Think about it..

How about a Twister tourney? I know it's a stupid game, but that is what could make it fun, the kids could play along, and it would just be a silly fun thing to do as a family. Doesn't have to be Twister. Could be Chute's and Ladder's, Candyland, any of the kids games could be turned into a goofy fun afternoon with our extended families.
The situation is hopeless but not serious.

i dont want to see it dropped either, esp. if its for charity. all im saying is, depending on the number of people attending, maybe have the tournament at someone's site (if the site is big enough) rather than at the pavillion, that way, we still have a place to get together for the kids activities.
