Almost 100% of the time, an error message when uploading a signature picture indicates that the picture is too large.

Maximum Signature Sizes

There are tutorials in the FAQs at the top of Forum Technical Support that discuss reducing pictures. Additionally, I have a standing offer to resize pictures for members. (Send me a PM.)

Although your purpose may be to resize a picture for a signature, your question is really about Picas, not the forum. Thus, your question would probably get a better response if it were posted as a new topic in Technology Corner.

I don't use Picasa, but will describe one way to resize using the program.

Select the picture(s) you wish to resize.
Select Export Picture to Folder... from the File menu
Use the slider to adjust the size. The slider adjusts either the width or the height, whichever is larger. The other dimension is automatically adjusted to keep the picture in proportion.
Other settings:
- There is a text field that allows you to name the export folder. It will have a default name.
- You can use the Browse button to determine where the export folder will be saved. It will have a default location.
- You can use the Image Quality drop-down menu to adjust the file size.
Click on the Export button.
