Every year 'bout this time the Renaissance Festival comes to town. It's a lot of good fun and Candace I and try to make it. Yesterday was about as nice an Atlanta day as one could imagine with a cool breeze, 75 degree temperatures and a low humidity of 35%!
So, we swilled some mead and ginger beer, munched on a turkey leg and watched all the people for whom this is a second opportunity (Halloween being the other) to dress up, tighten bodices and let the rest of us dwell over the swell!
There are some authentic exhibits like this showing the spinning of yarn.

A perfumery with every scent imaginable!

Wooden swords with colorful hilts are a hit with the kids.

The Georgia Renfest has a permanent home unlike many others. Part of the permanent structures.

Not exactly Medieval, but colorful nonetheless.

The King and Queen of the Fest.

My favorite performers are the Washing Well Wenches.

Only 5 this time - a front came through and really slowed the bite. The Crappie get pretty big here in AZ. Here's one I got 2 weeks ago (along with 42 of his friends - between 2 of us). It was almost 17" long.

Well I haven't posted any pics in a while so I thought I would get into the swing of things.
Here is our backyard a couple of weeks ago:

This was yesterday!:

One of the main roads in Calgary, on the building off to the right you can see a reflection of the Calgary Tower.

Our deck is a little snowed in.
