J & H Rv park just north of Flagstaff on 89 is a very nice park. We just stayed there, we like full hookups and other amenities. Might not be north enough for you?
Wow! Thanks so much for all of the information! I LOVE this forum! These are all great suggestions, but mostly I'm so thankful to hear from B-Rad502 in Prescott Valley regarding the route over 89A. I appreciate it the information A LOT. That was one of our concerns about that road, was whether or not it was a good towing road.
That route over the mountain is worth it if you want to see the North Rim. The North Rim is actually a ways down the road from Jacob Lake. If you don't have time to actually drive to the rim, then do the Page route. There is one good grade after the 89/89A junction, but it's only a few miles. Going to the rim you'll be going from 3000' to 8000' over several miles.
We're heading to Grand Tetons & Yellowstone in mid-July and plan on taking that Page route up to Glendale, UT. just North of Zion turn-off) for our first night's stay. I'm looking forward to seeing Lake Powell with a little bit more water. It was coming up at a rate of 1.5' per day last week!
Wow! Your trip to the Tetons and Yellowstone sounds awesome! I'm jealous. But I think that will be our next stop on the National Parks list, just not sure when. Probably not this year.
