Steve1948 - Best of Luck with your Class A. We have been there and done that. There are pro's and con's for each Class. I liked the cab being in the living area, did not like sitting out front of the engine and wheels in case I didn't stop quick enough. Liked the visibility, my wife did not want to drive the Class A. Had more power and load capacity, but burned more gas. Oh well - different stages of life and different views make both the perfect answer at some time or another.

Hello all, we're full-timers who have just bought a "vacation rig". We've lived in our 2006 Tiffin Class A for the past 6+ years and 80,000 miles and have found out some of the limitations of a 40' diesel pusher pulling a toad. So after several years of shopping, we've bought a 2004 R-Vision Trail Lite 213. The main uses are for an Alaska trip next year, short visits to our kid's homes in Va & FL and some short trips in the summer. Nice little coach, great condition on the Chevy 6.0 chassis with 8400 miles and 20-03 dated tires that look perfect, but are leaving with-in the next week for a new set. I've got some caulking to upgrade and have already cleaned and treated the rubber roof (actually my wife "Scottiemom" did that). The TV has been changed out for a 22" LED and the TV cabinet area enclosed . BTW another upside of the B+, the 7 new Cooper tires will cost about the same as 2 of the 4 Michelin's we bough for the Phaeton last week. New belts, coolant, oil change and hoses are coming in the next month. Been watching this topic for about three years...lots of useful information.

Just back from having the Cooper's installed. The new tires are "E" load range LT series. We had all seven replaced @ $1213 with new metal valve-stems, "fill-thru" metal valve-stem caps and braided "big truck" stem extentions from inside dual wheels.

Now to figure out why the power windows work with the ingition off but the dash radio doesn't.

I added the all metal extensions a year ago, best mod ever. Not sure about the windows but my radio never worked with the ignition off from new.

Both our Damon Intruder and the Tiffin worked off the house battery since there isn't a radio/cd player found in the living area of the RV as in most Class "C" and trailers.

Hello all, I need to get new tires for my 2007 23' Holiday Rambler Augusta Sport on a Chevy chassis. The current tires on now are Uniroyal LT225/75R16 What's the difference between the tire I have now and 245/75-16 How does one go about understanding the numbers on the side of tires? I was told my tires have dry rot, and I should not drive it until I get new tires. It's my daily vehicle so I need to get new tires ASAP.

Thank You all

Teacher, on my Chevy 6.0 the windows will go up and down after I remove the keys, but the minute I open the door the window stops going up and down. Don't know if it's some kind of safety feature.

Tire Size: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=46

In summary, 225 is width of the tire (in millimeters), 75 is the sidewall height as a percentage of the width and 16 is the diameter of the wheel that it mounts on (in inches).

245/75-16 is quite a bit bigger than 225/75-16. It may not sound like much of a difference, but those extra 20 millimeters make quite a difference.
