I've posted this simple mod before..... '06 LE owners can cut off
about 6 feet of ABS sewer line and make it a "shorty"

I used a $1.49 ABS coupler

I was wondering the same thing? Mine is only about six inches off the ground on my FS2300. If I dont cut it off it might get ripped off along with some other things.

What do you think was the purpose for Warrior putting it so far down the rig?

As many of you know there is not a standard for where hookups are placed in a camp site. I've seen connections on the opposite side of where they hookup on the camper is. I have found sewer connections in the back part of the site and in the middle of the site. I'd like to do what Racorman did but that means I might need to carry more sewer hose. I guess the longer the rig the more hose you need anyway. If I think about this too much I'll have to go hunt down my hacksaw.

I thought that back in the dark ages, the sewer hookups were at the rear of trailers, so all of the older parks had their hookups at the rear of the pad. now with more modern units they are moving them up to the side.

One of the first things I did was cut about 2 to 3 feet off of the sewer line on my FS2600. I asked the service manager at WW "why they were so long" He said that there are codes for mobile homes that apply to travel trailers? Something about outlet being so far away from the front end of the trailer and length for minimum drop from tank to outlet?

Not sure if this is BS or not but I wouldn't think they would use any more materials than needed to build these gems.

I've been wanting to do this to mine too, just haven't got’ in around to it. The only reason I can guess that they made them this long is because when you pull into a dump station usually there is a dip in the pavement in which your wheels sit into, thus tilting the entire rig so things flow faster, better or whatever. I know it is far fetched, but that is all I could guess.

If there is a "Code" for where the sewer connection is placed, why is My
Thor Wanderer Wagon connection in front of the tires??
It seems to work O K there, like another post said, the tires are in the "Dip" and this should help in the dump process.
