OK, so I'm at the dealers looking a campers and I tell him I don't want Carlisle tires. He basically says he doesn't believe there is any difference. The one I ended up buying has Nanco tires or something like that.

He brings me inside to look at another HTT and I start laughing. He says " what's so funny". I point to a flat Carlisle tire on the HTT in the show room. I think he may be a believer now!!!!!!!

The problem is that Nanco/Nanking/Kendra/Duro/(whatever Chinese tire you have) may not be any better. My confidence in TT tires is very low.

Great story. Problem was, Carlisle tire hit something, ---- the floor ----.
IMO ANYTHING has to be better than Carlisle.

Way to sock it to `em Gaffer! Goes to show that the sales guy wasn't paying attention.

Hey, I have Nankang radials... any confirmed problems besides standard punctures?

I had a PU with Dicor tires years ago. One tire had a slow leak that we just couldn't find. Finally pulled the tire and put the whole thing, wheel and all, under water in a big tank and waited. Slowly, bubble began to appear from the underside. When inspected, we found that the leak was coming from the serial number on the tire. That's right, when they stamped/molded the serial number they went all the way through to the cord. The dealer only argued a little bit regarding "manufacturing defect". Duh!

Maxxis came standard on my 2006 Jay Feather. Allegedly, Jayco was getting too many complaints about the Carlisles.

Cheers!

Nothing funny about Carlisle Tires. Bought a 2004 National Ragen
and no problems with tires until returning to California from
Arkansas last week. Blowout #1 occurred outside Sallisaw, Okla. Blowout #2 happened about 200 miles later in Elk City, Okla. Blowout #3 (can you believe it?) came just outside Tucumcari. Replaced the
4th, unblown tire because I didn't want to sit on the roadside
a 4th time waiting for AAA!!

Would hope to get the tires replaced, but what about the damage
done to the side of the trailer from the flapping steel belts?

Have been trying to call National RV, but all I get is no answer
or voicemail. Will be going down there with a bad attitude if their
service department doesn't get hot!!

Ain't life grand??
