We are safe here and had no damage. Had high winds and hail, but we missed the damaging part to both the west and east of us!!! It just kind of skipped over us. A few miles (4 or so) east of us had trees down and windows out. The dogs and one of the cats and us rode it our in the storm shelter in the basement. It was the pretty scary!

This morning let us pause and pray for those who have lost family friends and homes to the powerful storms that have so devastated their land and lives. For those of us who have been spared let also raise our voices to heaven in thanks and praise. As we go through this day let us remember we are still able to help those who so desperately need it, we just need to find out how and then do it. Please pray and contact your local agencies that provide services to stricken areas plug into these and give whatever you can.

Good morning. It is windy and cool this morning here in the Deep South. It is snowing in the mountains of North Carolina which isn't that far from us. The work in the back yard is about finished, all that is neeeded is another load of crush and run gravel and smoothing out the yard and driveway. The hookups for the pad are complete so we can have over night guests and provide them with full hookup.
The girls are doing well this morning and have been for a walk. I noticed Mama's right rear leg trembling when she puts pressure on it while standing still. She walks okay and can on occassion get into a run for a short distance, so guess for now we can rejoice she is able to get around as well as she does.
We are expecting Dan and Lori this weekend along with their fur gang. This will be their first visit to our new home. I sure do miss the home in Waynesboro with its big back yard. The fenced portion of our yard is not as big, but less to take care of.
Don't forget to set your clocks forward one hour next weekend.

Got a recall notice today on my motor home, transmission shift lever on the Ford chassis. I'll have to make a service appointment, but hope I can put it off until it's time to de-winterize.

De-winterize, get the shift lever repaired and head south-east. The weather will soon be very nice.

Last night was a very cold one, in the 20's. Today will be a warm 65* with sunshine. We haven't had rain since Saturday night so the ground is drying out. The pond in the back is full for the first time in a while. I will be putting top soil in the holes in the yard today. With all the rain we have places that have sunken. I guess it is where the drain lines are for the house septic tank and the sprinkler system for the yard.
Sue informed me I was the house cleaner for the next few days getting ready for Dan and Lori's visit. I hope the weather stays nice for their visit. Okay I am going to get ready to face teh day, talk with you later

Good morning. Allis well here in the Deep South. Yesterday was a cool day with winds blowing. Today is supposed to be warmer with clouds and maybe a shower or two. We got a truck load of top soil yesterday so now begins the part of spreading it out. The pads for the campers look nice and will be very functional. I won't have to worry about coming home from a long trip with the tanks being full and no where to dump. When we lived in Waynesboro there was an RV dump two blocks from the house that was very handy. Now when I come home if it is bad weather or too cold to be out I can want until I am ready to take care of that part of having an RV.
The girls are fine this morning waiting on me as usual to get ready for a walk. I gave them their heartworm pills this morning and I will give them their flea treatment sometime today. Remember the good old days when we didn't have such miracle drugs and we had to fight fleas in the house and in the yard the hard way. I rememeber when Dad used DDT in the yard and dog pens to fight the fleas. The things we didn't know about DDT back then will scare you today. That stuff was used for about everything you wanted to get rid of in the fields when raising crops, it was the cure all for about everything. Then when it was out-lawed because of the effects it had on the environment and people was far reaching for many years.
Okay I need to get moving, talk with you later.

Can't believe the weather up here this winter. 2 days ago woke up to 1+ inches of snow on the ground. Yesterday it got up into the 50's and was there until late in the evening. Today sunshine already even with strong wind we are up to 54 with the forecast to be almost 70. We are getting the camper ready to go to Richard and Sue's for a visit. We will be just be bumming around the country side for a while. Don't plan on going all the way to Florida but hopefully it will be warm where we are going. After Richard's we may try to go see a gal that lives about 125 miles north of Memphis. Also want to go to the Murfreesboro area in Tennessee and stop and see the horse that I used to have prior to getting hurt. Also the doctors that Lori worked with in Findlay have offices in Murfreesboro and Nashville. Who knows where we will wnd up. Hopefully all goes well. Got the suspension change on the camper and the truck serviced and tranny flushed and filled with new fluid.
Hopefully all will be OK by the time we want to leave. I did something to my right knee and could bearly walk this morning. Have an appointment with my doctor early afternoon. They are going to x-ray it and I hope nothing is out of place - maybe just bruised as I was on my knees yesterday a little too long. Well I better go and try to get something around. Hope everyone has great weather, health and happiness.

March in Colorado, as usual the weather doesn't know what season it is. Yesterday was gorgeous, sunny and at least 60 degrees. This morning, it is cold and damp, and will likely not get out of the 20's. There was a freezing drizzle this morning when I took the dogs out, and it was difficult getting around without slipping. I'm sure glad I don't have to drive. We are supposed to get a few inches of snow between now and tomorrow, after which it is supposed to warm up again for the weekend.
Dan, hope the knee feels better soon.
