I have a german shepherd mix and I don't know how he finds the time to do anything but but shed. I rake him every day during the shedding season and then hang the hair in a wire suet cage for the birds. You can pack a lot of fur into one of those.
The cage hangs outside the kitchen window in a tree and I watch the birds drop by and get fur for their nests. I used to just leave it on the ground for them, but it always got all wet and matted and looked gross- plus put the birds in danger from the wild cats outside. Now that it is in the tree, it seems like everyone stops by to get some and it dried out quickly if it rains.
Edited to add: I'm catching up on this thread and what a tearjerker! My dog was an adult stray that went unclaimed at the pound then ended up at a rescue where I found him. He was a sack of bones and sadness when I got him, but today he is velcroed to me and ridiculously content.

Well here is the question. What happened to spring? It is going to be cold here for the next few days and the North East is going to get snow!
Yesterday the Grandson and myself washed and waxed the camper. I did the washing he did the waxing, Mama watched from afar. Sue washed Mama yesterday morning and she didn't really care for it, but she stood there and took it like a lady.
I hope everyone is doing well and getting ready for summer and camping with the fur kids. I am looking forward to visiting Williamsburg, Virginia, haven't been there in a long time. I had a lot of family in the Richmond, Newport News area on my Dad's side of the family. They have either died or moved off to places I don't know of. My Uncle Bill had a Lincoln Mercury dealership in Newport News in the 40's and 50's named Universal Motors. My Uncle died in 1961 and that ended the dealership.
He had a beautiful farm on the James River that I loved to visit. When we were there I would walk down to the river and fish off the dock. It wasn't bad fishing as I would always catch something that would end up n the frying pan.
Okay I need to get ready for church, talk with you later

What happened to spring? It came out here to Colorado. It's forecast to be in the 80's in Denver and Littleton Monday and Tuesday, so I'm planning to take the camper over to Chatfield State Park tomorrow for an early outing.
Oh, Richard, Happy Birthday (tomorrow)!
