As printed in its HTML form...its ONE...USELESS piece of paper. I suggest that ALL go back and read it SLOWLY..and try and mull over in your mind(s) exactly what it is stating....which is basically NOTHING!

Personally..I wouldnt sign that useless document if it meant they stopped building RV's tomorrow.!

Sully:

What then would make it useful ?

What about a re-write and then printing it off and passing them around at CG's that we attend ? Have Toni act as the main
collector of the petitions ? When ours are filled mail them to her ?

How would you re-write it Sully ?

Chris: That would take up about 2 full pages HERE to explain the flaws in it..but making statements to the affect that when someone finds a "flaw" in a rig...isnt going to fly any further than a webpage. The "Moss-Magnuson Act dont have diddly squat to do with what the "writer" is inferring ( inference of a "basically" junk COACH)..and the "fact" that "some of the buyers are "senior citizens" doesnt add ANYTHING to the thing. As written it has more vaugerys and holes in it that a set of 20 yr old wool socks! And when you get to the end..it says "this law" would allow the owner of the bum rig to SUE the maker...!! Thats EXACTLY what they have to do NOW if they have a bummer!

This webpage is nothing more than a good hearted ATTEMPT at a POSSIBLE problem...that is usually ( about 95% of the time) CAUSED by the owners for buying a POS to start with. EDUCATE the BUYERS to stay away from JUNK...and you'll get a lot better results than trying to sue LARGE corporations!

You know I knew it was just a matter of time before Sully2 would weigh in. For whatever reason your response is just what I thought it would be. For this reason, can we all just agree that it's a start. Nothing in life is perfect. Let's not raise the white flag, and surrender already. It is just a beginning and hopefully will raise some eyebrows. None of us expect the World to stop turning because we signed this or any other petition. If it just shines a bright light on a very important issue to many of us, and some of the manufacturers sit up and pay attention, even for a moment, something is better than nothing. Let's just keep an open mind so that this topic won't be shutdown because us RVers can't play in our sand box nicely and repectfully...

Maybe no one is "signing it" because Internet-based petitions are worthless.

First I heard of it! Prehaps that is why so few signed up. Spread the word.

Look guys, if you want to initiate change in an industry an Internet petition can be a way of getting your message across. But if you want to change law, an internet petition is completely useless. In order to present this (or something similiar) to our law makers, there are certain criteria that must be met. Among them is the fact that the petitions must be hand signed.

You are wasting your time by completing this. The only way to make an effective statement using the Internet would be to write a letter and e-mail it to your state representatives. I for one doubt you'll get very far, as this is a state issue and not a Federal one, but it's worth a shot if you want to try and change that. The more people who directly contact their state representatives, the better chance you'll have of getting something passed in your favor. But an internet petition is worthless, and the reason there are so few "signatures" is because most people know this and won't bother wasting their time.

Here's a page where you can get the contact info for your state representatives:
