Been camping for years and I have read about the Geo method and I decided to try it on my 05 trailer. Normally using the flush king device it would take 4-5 dumps before the water would come out clear. I used 2 cups of water softner and disolved it in 2 gal of warm water. All 4 of us went on our 5 day trip to the Smokey Mountains, yesterday when I went to dump I could not believe my eyes when the second dump was clear!!!!! This has cut my dumping time in less than 1/4th the time it took before. I suggest all of you use this method it really works!!!

We also use the Geo method and the Flush King and had the same experience dumping that you did. Sure makes that part of camping a lot easier.

Check in KMart for the Calgon. That's where we found it here in PA.

bcampbell, if you have a Winn Dixie store nearby, check for Calgon liquid in the laundry detergent aisle. It may be around the fabric softeners.

Why is it called the "Geo" method? Shouldn't it be called the Calgon Method?
(confused)

In our area you can find liquid Calgon at both Super WalMart and Publix in the laundry detergent aisle.
Do you use any chemicals along with this, or just the Calgon and laundry detergent? -- Joyce

Powdered Calgon is found in the laundry section of grocery stores. Not all Walmarts/Kmarts carry it.
Called geo method 'cause the RV.netter whose user name begins w/ GEO introduced the idea w/ much praise and controversy.
I use the GEO method every other trip or every other 2 trips because we're weekend RV'ers and the water softener prevents debris from sticking to surfaces and is therefore easily flushed out using a Quickie Flush or Flush King device. Some forum members use both the QF and FK and even use the FK w/ built in black tank rinsers. The FK is an excellent product and the Geo theory is very helpful in clearing out tanks both black and grey.
