What would be the bad with taking my truck tent:truck tent
and using it on a small 6X8 utility trailer that could be towed by nearly any vehicle? Seems like a fine idea to me. Up off the ground and being able to unhook and go rambling would be a big plus with the "camper" still set up. Plus you would have the small trailer to haul along a bunch of stuff, cookers, ice chests, etc before you set up the tent. Whatcha think?

This is basically what camp trailers of the 50s and 60s were. We had three of them, all Apaches. The first had a bed on the trailer and the tent folded out onto the ground. The other two were more deluxe, having two slide-out beds, a cupboard and everything was off the ground. We towed one of these with a 40 hp Volkswagen. They probably weighed around 400 lbs. Great idea. Go on the internet and google the RV museum in Elkhart, IN for some photos nof various campers.
