Dont forget Kathy NC, shes your girl too All girls need new easter dresses, or jeans Boy, didnt the dallas area get hammered yesterday? Luckily none of arts towers got hit. He was so grateful. no paperwork and they are still operational. How did the washer work out? did you give it a try? Hey Rosie, When we got home from Camping World with the camper, Jim hooked up the water and plugged it into the generator so I could play with the w/d. It was awesome! It takes a long time but its going to be so much help! Especially once we take the camper back up to the river. No more lugging dirty clothes back and forth!

ro_sie, I was looking at an on-line Owners Manual for the Ft-897D. It is going to take me a month to figure out how to program the fool thing!
Maybe I should have ordered another FT-857D like the one I have.
Oh, well, too late now. The 897 will make a great base station radio (I will be moving it between the house and the RV), and the 857 can go in the Jeep. the FT-2900R that is in the Jeep now will go in the truck, maybe.
According to UPS tracking, the box left Commerce City CO this morning. Why it went from Las Vegas to Colorado, to get to Billings, I have no idea!

Glad everything seems to be going well for all....new toys all around. Mower is like a kid waiting on the fat guy in the Red Suit to bring his present. Mower, did you get that fishing lic yet? And more important did you actually go fishing? Jim you and Kathy still leaving out for Sevierville on Friday? Our first trip ever with the TT was to a nice little park in Pigeon Forge last May.
We had a good trip to Ft Laud and visit with old friends....my brother had a very nice retirement party on Friday (one heck of a nice chocolate cake) and birthday on Sunday. We had good weather and and travelling conditions until we hit Asheville yesterday around 3PM....ran into a heck of a rain storm west on I40 for about 10 miles and then it cleared up by the time I got to the RV park in Maggie it was no problem. I'll be checking with CW to schgedul;e a time to drop off the TT. Went to Univ of Tenn veterinarian clinic today with Magnolia today...turns out the big growth on her eye was a cyst. They drew out the fluid and took some tissue samples eventually we will have to have it removed but they wanted to get some lab results first.
I tell you, those folks are fantastic and have great bedside manner. It' obvious they are animal peopl. I can't recommend them enough if you have some issue you want a higher level of expertise than your local vet may have. My local vet is a great guy and very knowledgeable but UT did the surgery to remove Magnoia's eyes and I just feel more confident having them look at those issues.
Rained pretty good here around 3 PM today and the temp dropped a little...all in all pretty good weataher...everything is growing like crazy and I need to cut th grass again.
Larry, yes, I got the fishing license, but haven't gone yet. The high mountain campgrounds may not be open, and what with the winter storm warnings for Easter weekend, it may be a while! They are saying there is a possibility of 3-5 inches of snow here! That could mean a foot in the mountains!
I don't think the season has opened yet for the streams anyway.
I could go fish the Yellowstone river, I suppose.
With the way my luck runs, I would catch a ling or a channel cat, and I don't want either of them.
We have company coming this week, anyway.
I decided to try an experiment today, one that I have thought about several times over the last couple years.
I vacuumed the living room with the big Kirby, then turned the Roomba Discovery loose in there. When the Roomba battery shut it down, I checked the dirt bin and dust filter. The dirt bin was about 1/3 full, and the vacuum filter was coated in about 1/4 inch of dust!
I guess the silly little thing works pretty well!
Of course, if I had run the Kirby as long as the Roomba ran, maybe it would have done a better job...
I keep forgetting that winter still has a tenuous grip on some the country. In fact some of our local prognosticators are saying that we could get a "frost" next week. Sure hope not because all and I mean all of the flora are popping out like crazy around here and it would certainly do a lot of damage. Anyway, so hang on to the fishing license for use some time real soon. I'd like to get up into your neck of the woods soon to do a little R&R myself. Don't know if you like to read...I do and read alot....lots of differnt things...mostly fiction....while in FTL my brother gave me a non-fiction book to read you might like "American Sniper" by Navy SEAL Chris Kyle about his service with the SEALS and his time in Iraq(you too Jim)( Hi ro_sie!). Maybe because he has the same point of view I do as to "hearts and minds". I am almost finished with it. I would recommend it to you both. Anyway, now I'll get back to my "Lord of the Rings" and "King Arthur" type medieval stuff.
It's good weather here ...rain in the afternoon high around 70 and lows in 50's. I sold a piece of land I own here and so will be going to the ambulance chasers office this morning to sign the closing documents and pick up a check. After that it's get in touch with CW to schedule the drop off of the TT.
My gosh, it sounds like everyone has their ducks all in a row we have been having afternoon thunderstorms for several days now. I can live with them, makes my weeds grow. Sure will be glad when the 15th rolls around and I can leave my tomatoes out at night. So far it has been above freezing.....but, I know mother nature quite well. she can be tricky. Well art went to his cataract guy this am and goes again tomorrow to get measured and then soon after it will be a done deal. He has been crabby worrying about it. if he keeps it up I may put some starch in his underwear........just kidding. Hope you are having fun learning that new rig mower. Got to run, I have my little one in the bathroom. she is not trust worthy
Good afternoon to all of you. Raining right now....It was a beautiful morning, early afternoon...got up to 74 degrees, I washed the roof on my 5er, as well as the rest of the 5er and washed my dually.....and.....it's raining now...everything looks clean out there in the rain though
Looks like everything is supposed to clear out early morning and it appears Fri, Sat, Sun and Monday are going to be pretty nice....good, we decided to wait until in the morning to head to Sevierville...try to get there around 10am or earlier, it's only a 2 hr driving, towing, so not a big deal.
We're all ready to go, just need to put a few things in the fridge...hope all of you are well and having a great day.
Hey, I had a D104 mic too with the 1011D and then on the FT101E....remind of ole timey microphones.....anyhoo, it was fun...may get back into it again, maybe shoot some skip with Jon....just got to figure out where I'd put an antenna, what radio to get, when to take the test, as well as where to take the test.....working 5 to 6 day's a week tends to tie up most of my time right now, but I am getting an interest in it again.
