Alternative resources here also. They recently registered a car and trailer for us. We slightly overpaid and the change was sent back to us in a small envelope that my wife didn't notice, so I wound up with some extra money when I installed the new plates. We like the service they provide.

We, too, are extremely happy with Alternative Resources. Went to
Sioux Falls before we set out on our full-time adventure. In one
day we met the nice folks at AR, registered and applied for titles for
two vehicles, went to the court house to get SD drivers licenses, and
had our insurance changed for two vehicle. We receive two mailings
per month from AR. Are very pleased with their service.
Question addressed to you users of address and mailforwarding services. I realize this may be a bit off subject but thought placed here, you would be in a great position to answer. Would you be willing to disclose average weekly or whatever mail for forwarding costs are? Am trying to put together costs involved with fulltiming looking to enter the ranks shortly after Mar 2007.
Thank you.
www.MyDakotaaddress.com will give you the prices of mailforwarding, and anything else you ask for. Terri has been good for any question I have asked. We are also trying to get everything in line for when the time comes of retirement.

As for costs.........I think it depends on how often you choose to have your mail sent and how much mail is being sent. We have ours send weekly, but you can choose monthly, bimonthly, or whatever works for you.
We haven't been fulltiming a year yet, so can't give you a figure yet. But whatever it adds up to, it saves the hassle of changing our address every time we move.

We use My Home Address in South Dakota. At our request they send our mail by U.S. Post Office Priority Mail (slightly higher cost). We ask for it about once a week. Generally it is about $4 for each mailing. That covers the cost of an 8 1/2 x 11, 3/4" thick mailing. If the package is larger the cost goes to about $7. The longer we wait to have our mail forwarded the higher the cost (more stuff=higher cost). I budget $20 monthly, which has been adequate for the past year.

Thank you to all that replied. I understand the annual subscription to a service and was looking for the "mailing" costs. Sorry about not making myself clear. However, RV Puller, a special thank you for your info, that is what I needed. If anyone else can respond with their costs or concur with RV Puller, please do so.
Thank you.

Why pay Alternative Resources (or any other SD mail forwarding service) to renew your license tabs when you can do it yourself online for a $1 mailing fee? See this Minnihaha County Treasurer website.

We pay $228 per year, but get our mail every week. The only additional money we pay is for actual postage. Unlike some other mail services, A.R., charges no additional "per mailing" fee.
