Sorry to hear about your problem and hope you get it straightened out.
You may have to get something in writing from the dealer and the DMV and send it to Mexico City to get that TIP cleared. The form for cancelling a TIP on an RV that you've sold may be what you need to clear this up. If so, let me know and I can send you a pdf copy (in English and Spanish) Keep us informed.
As to why they didn't catch it when you entered Mexico; if you remember, they probably didn't actually inspect the truck when they issued the TIP, they probably just copied the info from your registration and issued the TIP. They also probably never got close to the truck, just handed you the hologram and paperwork and told you where to mount it. I've never had the vin# checked on any vehicle when entering Mexico.

So to go to Rocky Point in a Class A what is required? We have our personal documents in order ( we have passports - I know they aren't mandatory yet, and Drivers Licenses) but what do we need for the Motorhome? We obviously have our registraion and will have Mexican insurance. Do we need a permit of some kind for it?

For Rocky Point, that is all you need. Passports and Insurance. You also may want to find out if your Medical Insurance covers you in Mexico. Mexico has the same same rules about guns as Canada - leave them at home or you will wish you had!

I reviewed all the threads I could find...and there is a lot good information out there. However, I am still left with a question; can I go to the consulate in Nogales, AZ and do ALL the paper work a day or two in advance.

I can't speak to Nogales, but most Mexican Consulates in the US (that I'm familiar with) do NOT handle issuing of any document that requires you to pay money. That is the job of the Banjercito, and those are normally in close proximity to the Migracion office; which, in turn, is either at or near the border.
If you have the time, you can get your FM-T by mail through the Vags or one of the other travel club. These are pre-paid, but you still must check in with Migracion at the border station and get it stamped.
You can also get your TIP's through the Banjercito website. These are also pre-paid (with a credit card) and sent to you via a contract messager service. Turn around time is about 5-10 days. Here again, you still have to check in at the border station to establish you actual "entering Mexico" date.

I have been told that i cant take my motorhome and a toad acoss the border if i'm traveling by myself. something about having to have 1 person for each vehicle in two different names. do you know anything about this?

We have never been to Mexico, want to enter @ Noglas, read that we need a letter from leinholder to cross border, is that correct? Any websites to give list of paperwork would greatly be appreciated! Also, any input on trouble, have been reading drugs etc. Still considering to go or no to go.

90 days later I recieved an all clear report
from tourisum folks.

To Tomleehughes: New regs allow one person to take in both RV and toad, but you will get a 10 yr. permit on the RV if you want and only a 6 month permit on the car.
