They are definitely setting up. We drove by there yesterday, and the shower trailer was being set up as well as the kitchen. Don't know when they're set to open, but should be soon.
We'll be there for fish and chips!

We stopped by Friday at the "Snowbirds Cafe" about 2 pm and asked them if they would be open Friday night. They said they were waiting for the health inspector.
AND now the bad news they said the fish fry and ribs meals were priced at $10 each. Now they may put out great food for forest service workers with the government paying the bills BUT
we can go to the Grubstake Bar in town and get all the fish and chips with about 3 lbs (no kidding) of fries for $8.50. So we shall see...

Is the Grubstake Bar the one at the Main Event?
If so, we've had fish and chips there and weren't impressed...too much greasy batter and overcooked fish.
If it's not the one at the Main Event, where is the Grubstake Bar?

here is the menu from last year.........it does not appear that they have raised prices since then........I thought for the quality of the food and the quantity plus the festive atmosphere it was reasonably priced........we sat by the fire after dinner and the head honcho came by with a case of M&M's and gave everybody a bag of them for dessert.........and they wern't the kiddie sized bags either.......

They were in the Hi Jolly Daze Parade today and had a banner saying buy one dinner and get second 1/2 off for limited time. I wish they would have been handing out Menus. WELL that and your post with the menu kind of changes things. We will go and try them. We want all the vendors to do well.
Oh and the Grubstake is not at the Main Event (the restaurant there is closed) We ate there at the one at the main event last year (fish and chips) YES very greasy and I got sick. The Grubstake is is on the north side of town on HW 95 can't miss it on the right going north.

Monday (today) the signs are up big time for the Snowbird Cafe..
Big banner sez PIZZA SALAD BAR
It was about 4 PM and no cars so didn't stop and ask for a menu.
One sign said enjoy the campfire.

How long do they stay? We'll be passing through Quartzsite in early March and I would like to stop there for lunch.

I'm pretty sure they were gone by March last year. They probably leave sometime in February, but I don't remember for sure from last year.
