Hi all - I am seriously considering purchasing a Tiger CX 4WD. It's a good size for me and I like the diesel options. I've already looked at the van, but I would be interested to hear from anyone who actually owns the Tiger. I'm wondering how it holds up over time in terms of convenience and reliability.
Any input would be appreciated.

We looked at the Tiger on the website and called the factory and talked to the owner. I liked the Chevy chassis and the 4WD option all in that small package. The problem with the Tiger is that they are hard to see since the company does not attend shows. You have to go to the factory to see one or have the factory find one that is owned by someone that is close enough for you to drive to. Ultimately, Carolyn shot it down because she didn't care for the interior.

Just curious about what you didn't like about the interior? Like you, I've been interested in this MH and would like to see one but have had no opportunity. Does it have a cramped feel, like the Class B vans? I think there are a few reviews on this site RV Reviews and I think they were positive. Everything I've heard or read about them has been good but that's no substitute for personal observation.

Well......as I remember it, since our PW has such a plush white interior, Carolyn didn't like the plywood grain effect on the cabinets. However, she doesn't remember it that way. She said, "weren't we suspose to go to the Carolina's and see one?". There was also other issues like very little outside storage space and the lack of a dealer network, didn't allow for trad-in. Maybe we'll fly down there and talk to the guy and see if he can spruce it up for us.

Is it roomier than your PW?

I can't answer that question in all honesty, but having that bed up top means you can leave the bed made up all the time and not have it interfer with the living area. Overall it is a bit shorter than my PW in length but it's wider so my assumption is that it would be a little roomier and from the website pictures, it looks a lot bigger inside.

Yep, these things always looks positively spacious on their website [and in their brochures], then, when you actually crawl into one.... :E But I am looking seriously at either the Tiger CX or a TC/4X4 truck. A moderately sized TC is actually a little bigger, by my rather crude estimations, but I'd rather have an all-in-one unit for my needs.

I actually did take a look at one. Rather than fly down to S.C., Dave (forgot his last name) arranged for me to see one that someone had recently purchased nearer to my home. The owner was extremely gracious and allowed me to take my time looking it over. You may want to consider this before flying all the way down there. It was certainly more convenient for me.
My impression was that the Tiger is open and spacious for it's size. There's a lot of light and the layout is excellent. I have also been looking at class B vans built on the sprinter body. For me, the Tiger CX was more open and less cramped. The overhead bunk adds a lot of flexibility to the space. It was also easy to drive and maneuver. The engine has a tremendous amount of power.
It would certainly be tight for more than two people, but I did not feel closed in with the space. Outside storage is limited, but the inside was fine for me and you can get an extra storage chest that hangs off of the back. The 4wd option is also a real plus for me.
