Don't have to. I've read the law for Texas (truck driver), not just the website. You can go longer with an overlength permit for $240 for 90 days and the vehicle must be commercially registered. Don't think I want that.

I just got a new one today. Traded in my springdale for a 2013 laredo 289sre. Really happy with the upgrade so far. I will build a hitch on the back just like I did on my last one to tow my bass boat behind it as well.
