Combining pictures or maps using MS Paint
MS Paint has been around since the early Windows 95 operating systems and it is very easy to use. Here's the steps for combining maps, pictures or a combination using only it for an RV.Net signature.
1. Create and save each of the maps to your computer according to egroves instructions at Add a Visited States Map to your signature
2. Open MS Paint in your computer, usually located at Programs/Accessories. If not found, use your Search. If still not found, it may need to be activated in your Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs/Add-Remove Windows Components.
3. Click on Image/Attributes and set Width to 350 and Height to 100

4. Find your first map to paste, click Edit and then Copy (tip: look in Documents above Start which are the recent viewed files)
5. In MS Paint, click on Edit and Paste.

6. Find your second map, click Edit and then Copy
7. In MS Paint, click on Edit and Paste and then drag the second map to right right of the first one

8. While still in MS Paint, click on Edit and Select All
9. In MS Paint, click on File, Save As and find a folder to save it in.
10.Set the "Save as type" to ".GIF" (or ".JPG") and give the file a name and click on Save.

11.Verify that the file size is 30kb or less by checking it in your folder listing.
12.Sign into RV.Net, go to your My Forums and click on your "My Preferences"
13.Click on "Browse", find the picture you just saved and double click on it.
14.Review the rest of your preferences and then scroll to the bottom and click on Submit Changes.
15.Go to your My Forums and click on your "My Posts" and find a recent post to verify your signature either in a post or click on your Profile for the same.
Another fun project you can do with this program:
The US map is 198 pixels wide and the Canadian Provinces map is 135 pixels wide or a total of 333 for both. The maximum width for a signature is 500 pixels therefore you can add up to a 167 pixel wide picture to it! You can even "erase" Alaska in the US map for an additional 47 pixels - that will allow up to a 214 pixel width picture!

Di and Miche, there is no point in posting again to see your signature as any changes made will show in all past, present and future posts. You need only go to your profile or a recent post to verify your changes.
Also, signatures will show only once per topic page view in all forums except this one of Forum Technical Support where it will repeat with each post.
