FYI -- I received an email today introducing me to a couple & their website where they plan to cross country and stop at Walmarts along the way.

The main part of the email . . .

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our friends Jim and Laura have decided to go on a cross-country RV tour. It started in Las Vegas on Saturday and will end in Georgia.
What’s special about this RV tour? Jim and Laura will be overnighting at Wal-Mart on each and every stop along the way.
Laura and Jim will be chronicling their experiences on their blog Walmarting Across America. Jim, a professional photographer, will also be posting photos to a Flickr site Working Families for Walmart
They will be posting their tales from road, info about the places they visit, and tips from their experiences along the way. They’re also sure to meet a lot of great folks in Wal-Mart parking lots from one side of the country to the other. So it will be worth checking in everyday.
I’ve let Jim and Laura know about the RV community that already exists online, and how many people have already done and experienced what they are doing right now. They’re excited to be a part of the community.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

I sent a reply - asking if they were members of RV.NET. If this is old news to some of you - disregard. But if not - i wanted to share it. I'm eager to follow their journey.

That sounds like a good time. Just wish my wife and I were closer to retirement so we could do something similar. I look forward to following them.

Are they being sponsored by Walmart or are they employees themselves?

I don't know. I suggested they join the forum and i get the impression they are going to do this. So perhaps we will learn more soon.

I can attest that it can be done, but it's not the kind of plan that you might want to follow. It would only work for me if I needed to drive across the country in the shortest time, similar to ferrying a motorhome or visiting family members for a few hours. Otherwise, it puts a serious crimp on the enjoyment of the road trip.

I WallyDock a lot when on the road. All this joker is doing is drawing the publics attention to parking overnight in a Walmart parking lot and that is best left at a much lower level. IMHO!!!!

I looked at this jokers website and he even has Walmart parking banners on the side of his motorhome. This is a mis-guided endeavor and will hurt the Walmart parking cause much more that it will help. IMHO.
