Just finishing up the 3 volume set on The Third Reich by Evans. Next is Ernst Junger's first person narrative of WWI - Storm of Steel- and then Tony Judt's Postwar: A History of Europe since 1945.

I just read the Yom Kippur War. (I work with a couple of Israeli's who were involved in it). Reading the book gives you an understanding of the country's leadership since 1973.

Heinlein's call to arms, and a book about values. I think I have read it 25 times. Something to put in a teen aged boy's hands for sure.

"Twilight in the Desert" - Matthew Simmons - Boy does he repeat himself. Interesting topic, but I think the 1st 100 pages could have been done in 75.
"Kon-Tiki" - Thor Heyerdahl I read it 40+ years ago, but love a good true life adventure.

Daughter of Fortune by Isabel Allende (for the 2nd time). Just finished Marley and Me by John Grogan (yes, the one the movie is based on and yes, I bawled my eyes out during both the book and movie).
Both are very good books-highly recommend them.

OMG what a book. The story is told by a dog. This is my all time favorite book, but VERY VERY VERY sad.
I just ordered 4 copies from Amazon to give friends.

Now reading Ten Degree of Reckoning by Ester Rumberg. True story.
In 1993 Judith and Michael Sleavin and their two children set out to live their dream, to sail around the world. Almost three years later, one night off the coast of New Zealand, a freight carrier altered its course by a mere ten degrees. And changed everything.
I just finished reading " The Art Of Racing In The Rain" last night. I must say, that at first it seemed strange that I was reading a story as told by a dog.? ....Anyway, I did enjoy it very much. I can't say that it the best book I've ever read, but it was a very enjoyable book and interesting story. Who would have thought a dog would be so interested in auto racing, OR that I could be for that matter.
I would recommend this book as a fast fun read.

He really hit the nail on alot of societies shortcomings in that book, I deeply enjoyed it and found myself agreeing with alot of the moral and societal issues covered in the book.

I'm reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by a Swedish author named Stieg Larsson. It's been translated into English (only way I could read it ) and it's excellent. I'll have to look for more of his.
