I've been a member of this forum for years. I became a Senior Member before I turned 40, for crying out loud. I reply to lots of posts, some of which I even read before I open my trap. But I've got this problem. Bear with me, it's taken a lot of courage for me to admit my complete and utter ignorance. WHAT THE HECK DOES "DW" STAND FOR???? Ok, there, I asked. Dear wife? Domestic wench? Something else? Please help me, ignorant AND opinionated is no way to go through life...

I believe most people claim it to mean DEAR WIFE, or D*** WIFE. But if it were me, and I were talking about my ex it would be DIM WIT, DIP WAD, I think you get the idea...

I think DW can be taken in many ways based on the content of the message.

DW forgetting to pull up the jacks before driving off could be thought of one way.

DW who bought a pretty negligee for your first camping trip for just the two of you would probably mean something quite different.
