[quote=JumboJet]Great choice! I got the 6.75" wide - took from May 2006 until December 2006, but was a great Christmas present for myself.
Did they tell you it would take that long? Do we trust Rickson if they say they will deliver in April? We plan to leave out of here in late May and not come back until October. I really want the Ricksons on for that trip!

They told me it would take a few weeks and then they had a truck load of billets become involved in an accident. They offered me a wheel with some blems, even sent me pictures. I held out for the 'perfect' 6.75 wheels.
Most of my communications was with a real nice lady there - Heather Knutson. Give them a call and let them know your requirements. I wasn't in any hurry.
The 7.5" are easier to get and work well with the 245 & up tires.

I talked with Dan at Rickson, the bossman, and ordered the 19.5" X 6.75" for my GMC. He told me they are having issues regarding order processing from the wheel manufacturer. He said a shipment was due in Jan. '07 and they still had not received it; now April! I ordered anyway but have no idea how or when Dan @ Rickson will get the wheels to ship to me. I too have plans for the summer and have this dilemma. I am thinking of looking elsewhere but really want these and don't know where else to look. Any ideas?
Also, Dan has steel wheels in stock but they are twice as heavy and I don't want to have that extra reciprocating mass to stop. GMC isn't noted for having the best brakes/stopping power.
We changed our order to 6.75 steel wheels last week, instead of the aluminum since the shipment date for the aluminum ones is so uncertain. They weigh more, but they are rated to carry more weight, too. Ended up saving >$800! I just want those wheels on so we can get out of here until fall! The weather is getting stormy and humid, Mississippi has the nation's first case of West Nile Virus for '07--it's time to head West! Good luck with your tires. They promised we'd get our steel ones before the end of April.

I never said they weren't good tires, I merely meant I don't have that kind of money for tires period!
Thats more than I paid for my '99 elkhorn 8S in all!
Maybe someday when I hit the lottery....
I just did a thousand mile trip with my new Ricksons and Michelins and there was a huge difference in the ride and handling. They were a big investment, but well worth it,imo.

I thought Rickson was supposed to have solved all that delayed delivery problems? Seems to be just more of the same, broken promises, missed delivery dates...changed delivery dates...non-specific delivery dates.
I find it hard to believe people are still putting up with this type of service, especially when Vision offers a great product, and they actually have them in stock! What a concept!
