I see so many people interested in T/C's for 1/2 tons I thought it would be a service for all of us who run 1/2's to let the public know what kind of rigs we have for their reference and to promote T/C's. 1/2 tons outsell every car and truck there is so theres lots of potential for new fellow t/cers.: A picture would be great!

I have a 2002 Toyota Tundra V6 (manual) 4X2 with a 2002 Outfitter Caribou 6.5 (base was 850 lbs dry) which I bought last summer. I added Bridgestone Revo E-load tires, Firestone air springs and Hellwig rear sway bar to the truck (all for better safety/driving dynamics) and the only options on the camper are outside shower and rear awning. I don't believe the rig is overweight but have never had the opportunity to get it on a scale. I pack and travel very light. Fishing, some hiking & being outdoors, see the USA/Canada is the main focus…. So I don't use the camper as a second home. It is just a place to flop and eat with a bit more comfort and convenience than tenting. Will be upgrading the electrical system this spring to be able to "boondock" it. Plan to retire this year and use it for a 2-3 months straight and then I will really know if it will perform as I envision.
Half tons RULE and one tons DROOL!!! Happy Trails...

Radarcody,
NICE looking combo. I envy you for your future plans. We would really like to be able to take off and see the USA and Canada. Maybe someday...

We are new to TC'ing and purchased a Palomino Bronco for our 1/2 ton. We added Firestone airbags to the truck. No pictures yet - will have after our first outing on Memorial weekend - can't wait!

Wow, how many "camper miles" do you have on your rig?

1984 F-150 Ford 4x4 with an Outfitter Caribou 6.5 - some suspension mods, like Rancho helper springs, upgraded leaf springs, and replaced the OEM 8.8 differential with a 9.75 rear end - same gearing as stock. Otherwise simple, like me.

Gbutala, 95000 trouble free miles except when at 60000 some jerk fitted the wrong air springs in the wrong place & split the frame. However since I removed them, all is ok again.
Original everything, including brakes & tranny
