Our bunks are supported by cables, but interestingly the front bunk was the first to get a tear in the corner and no one has ever slept on that one. We have had our replacement tent ends for over a year now with no problems and the cables haven't been adjusted, so I don't think the cables stretching was our problem.

We finally have a reolution!!! We agreed to pay $150.00 per end. For Canadians reading this, we also ended up paying $91.84 in brokerage fees, however I figure we still did ok. We wanted both ends in case there is a difference in the fabric, dye lot, etc. The tent ends arrived yesterday. We'll have to wait until the weather here improves in order to install them but we anticipate all should be good.
I'm disappointed it took several e-mails, a letter to the president and many follow-ups on my part in order to finally bring resolution to this - it took almost 8 months. Our unit was only in service for 2 years 1 month before this problem surfaced. We are 2nd owners and as such are content with paying what amounts to a reduced price (compared to retail) on the ends. I suspect the price charged to us would be their cost or they may even have made a little. I think this is actually a win-win resolution. From a business standpoint, it costs far less to retain a customer than to gain a new one.
Having said that for any sales/service folks out there, I will tell you a quick story you may share with your co-workers to illustrate the difference fair treatment can make.
More than 20 years ago I was interested in a trailer at an RV dealer I was about 21 and looked more like 16. It was 30 minutes prior to close and he would not unlock the trailer for me to have a look. I'm certain he figured I couldn't possibly be worth his time - he was wrong! I went across the street to their competitor, their salesman was extremely helpful. I was back again the following day and purchased the unit from the salesman that made time for me. Two trailers later, I still will not consider purchasing from the RV dealer that dismissed me as not worth their time. I realize that particular salesman may not even work there but I just can't bring myself to shop there. I much prefer to shop where they treat me fairly, they win my business.
Having said that, we love our Coyote. We're happy with the resolution and as such we would still consider KZ products when the itch to upgrade hits. I also have a '649 Happy Dance' dream (winning the lottery). That dream involves buying about a dozen units for friends and family and putting them in a row at a great park. Odds are my dream won't come true - but you never know!!!!! The fair deal that KZ did for us may one day pay huge dividends.

I'm so glad I did a google search and found this topic. There is a wealth of information here and gives me hope for our situation.
We opened our 2003 Coyote 20C (bought new in 2004) this past weekend and found the back bunk-end had ripped around the plastic in the corners. Now take into fact that we haven't used our camper since 5/06 (due to another problem that needed addressed) and it was perfectly fine then, my husband was absolutely livid. We want to sell the camper and opening it up and finding that when it hadn't been used in almost 2 years, was...well...disheartening. But you all have given me hope that even if KZ won't replace it under warranty, it shouldn't cost too much to have it fixed. Our dealer has been pretty good so far, so hopefully when I call him tomorrow, I will have a good outcome.
Thanks everyone.

Had our canvas replaced twice in front, once in rear - last one was prior to last camping season. While the fit is still very suspect (and sloppy), there have been no tears.

Got the new ends this week, out of pocket no help from KZ. Dealership parts person was awesome. She really helped out. Going to try to install the last weekend this month. Have set aside the whole weekend to dewinterize and do the bunk ends, bearings and afew other things. Looking forward to the season as Ontario parks has over $600 of our money in resseys so far.

Canadian, please let me know how the installation of the tents went. Mine are still sitting in a box, someday I'll get around to installing them.

I got a really good deal, $300.00 for all three, 2 are brand new and 1 was a take off from a new trailer, didnt match the others or something like that. I dont care if it doesnt match so long as it fits and keeps the outside out!!!! I might try to do one today its supposed to warm up this afternoon but the twins have their year end curling bonspiel today so DW and me might end up at the rink watching a few games. Will keep everyone informed as to how the install goes.

Hey MadFinn, about 2 hours for the first one, spent 1/2 hour trying to fit the corner from the bottem up and then had the brain wave to take the end up to the top and feed it from the middle down to the bottem works great, should have it down to 1 hour per end by the time I'm done.
