Does anyone know where I can find a 12 volt DC voltmeter with an alarm so you don't have to keep monitoring the battery manually.I don't need one to do anything except let me know the battery is low so I can start recharging the batteries before they are so low and damage electronics.

Many, if not most, inverters have a low voltage alarm. They usually sound at about 10.5-11.5v which corresponds to a low battery trying to supply current to the inverter.

It is the alarm I use for the purpose you describe. If my inverter beeps when my fridge compressor starts, the batteries are getting low.

Yeah, I just checked the batterystuff link and they get almost $7 bucks to ship it. It can't weigh that much.
