Hi All...
I'm about to take my 5th wheel on it's longest trip to date.
Talladega, for the races, this week - Hope she makes it!
I'm in central Florida, with easy access to 75, 19, 98, OR 27.
I've done some searching, and read that 231 is a good route into Alabama.
However, 280 is the way ONE of the 'maping' thingies told me to take.
It's saying go through Albany, and Columbus.
231 will run me through Dothan, and Montgomery.
Can anyone recommend which way is easier, while towing a HEAVY 5th?
I'm looking for the least traffic/traffic lights, so I can make it there in a timely mannor.
Either way looks like they meet in Sylacauga.
ALSO, I assume I'm posta jump on 21 N at Sylacauga - run it into the town of Talladega, and then 77 N to speedway Blvd?
Are those good roads, too?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance,
Phlash

I think you would do just as well to take I-75 north to Atlanta, and then I-20 west to the speedway.

I though about that, but it looks shorter to go through 'the woods'.
Guess I could go around Atlanta. If so, I'll simply plan on not trying to do so in rush-hour...

I have family who live in Tampa and meet us at Talladega for both races each year. They found the easiest/quickest route is I-75 to Atlanta and then I-20 to Talladega.

We are across the street from the track, by I-20, where all the "crazy's" are. There were lot's of RV's waiting, at 7am, and they have been steadily coming in since.

Hummm.. Knowing that there are allready campers there kinda makes me want to get heading that way sooner...
I'm ready. In fact, I just got done washing the 5th, and truck.
Maybe I can convince the guy riding with me to get here tomorrow morning..

Fortunately, you are staying at dove ridge, your spot is reserved...I stayed there last year and it was great!! If you haven't left yet, pack your bikes, makes the trip to and from the track Mucheasier.
